What is Dyslexia? Do I have It?
I've always had hard time learning through reading from a text as oppose to studying from lecture notes and memorizing. Reading text, I will be reading a paragraph over and over like 20 times and have no idea or forget what it is talking about once I jump onto the next paragraph.
However, my spelling is decent and I actually am able to memorize spelling of new words well. As for writing, it takes a lot of words for me to convey something others can do so with half the words. I'm also more of a creative, hands on and free thinker rather than a technical person.
Do I have mild dyslexia or ADD? Or is it just that my reading and writing skills are horrible.
No, there's nothing wrong with you and there certainly doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your writing skills. There are variations of reading and writing skills within a population and, for the most part, dyslexia is the middle class not accepting that their children are slow learners. It is also a means of cheating at examinations by getting extra time.
