Technical Writing Israel

Decision: Kabbalah weekly study meeting: Attend or not?

The weekly meeting is run by instructors associated with the Bnei Baruch association based in Israel. I attended an introductory lecture, and I really didn't like the instructors. They seemed overly intellectual. I felt no warmth of heart. They seemed like engineer types, all fascinated by technical terminology and schematics. I also did not like some of the outspoken attendees at the lecture. Two of them asked questions as a pretext to give mini-lectures and show off all their knowledge and to tell us about all the books they've read (one even bragged about being a college professor and having written several books--yuk!). Yet, I want to gain Light and balance and spiritual healthiness in my life, and I think the Bnei Baruch organization, and its leader, Rav Michael Laitman, are trustworthy teachers of authentic Kabbalah. I can't decide whether to begin attending this class, which I think will meet ten or so times.

Dear friend,
Allow me to call you "friend" even though we've never met, since we share the same path to gaining light, balance and spiritual healthiness in life. We also share the intuition that this wisdom is available through Bnei Baruch and Rav Laitman.
I understand that your experience was unpleasant for very sensible reasons. We can all help each other. It is true that usually we come to a lecture to receive, but how our listening would be different if we were there also to share our own experience. Then we could contribute to the next introductory evening to be more the way we envision it. You were probably not the only one who was sitting there with those thoughts, those feelings. Your criticism is a treasure when coming from an open heart.
