Where can I learn programs like Adobe Indesign, Robohelp and FrameMaker?
I want to transition to a Technical Writing career. I'm in the LA area and I already checked the local colleges and UCLA Extension. Where can I learn these softwares, since I don't have them on my own computer?
basicporkandbeans, when you say 'focus on your book', you mean my portfolio?
You are either going to have to go to a school that teaches these things. But I also think that you can get the software at academicsoftware.com
But seriously, you don't need to know any of these things to be a technical writer. There are others that can and will flow the writing into these things. Focus on your book, and interview for jobs.
