Technical Sales

What kind of commission structure is typical for industrial sales.?

I have personally been responsible for growing a startup company (industrial sales) to 2 million annually. Our average margin is 35 per cent. I handle all sales calls, inventory, technical issues, I guess pretty much everything is done by me. What kind of percentage of the profit should I be asking for. If I were to leave the business would suffer greatly.

In the neighborhood of 6% - 7% would be my best guess.
