Informed decision on Mac vs PC?
I'm curious as to which is better (Mac or PC) based on common computer knowledge. I'm not a computer nerd so I don't really know what all the technical stuff means. I use my computer for surfing the web, writing papers, downloading music and storing files and photos; so which is the better choice, and why? I need a Mac vs PC breakdown for dummies or something.
I have both Mac and Windows running on this laptop (HP Pavilion)
The Snow Leopard is 100% functional, is faster booting and quicker generally, but the software for it is so limited in variety and availability that I nearly always boot into Windows. For example: language translation, video, photo and audio progs.
I owned a Macbook Pro but sold it because I did not like the touch pad, And when in the lap it got very hot and uncomforable. Also it would get scratched so easily it was losing its pretty appearance. Plus the screen was getting loose, and Apple would not repiar under warranty. This old HP is as tough as nails.and was very cheap but quite powerful.and the screen is as tight as when it was made.
Macs are really the same inside now as Intel "PC's" so I don't know what you get for all that extra money that you pay to buy one.
Viruses are not much of an issue really. I haven't had one in years on the Windows O/S. I run AVG and auto-update regularly.
