Example Questions for a ethnography interview?

I have to interview someone from a different culture and write a ethnology report on them specific directions are :

An ethnography is a detailed description of a culture based on an anthropologist’s field work. Your assignment is to interview someone from another culture and to describe that culture anthropologically in a written report. You may interview a family member, friend, international student, neighbor, etc.

Please discuss the culture in a two page paper. Use the cultural categories and terms described in class and in our textbook, such as the pattern of subsistence, type of kinship system, and political system to describe the culture. Discuss what impressed you, positively or negatively, about the culture. Use as much detail as possible, but since this is a short paper you may need to focus on one or two aspects of the culture.

If yall have any suggestions or example questions please let me know because i have no idea what im doing.

You might start by identifying the cultural categories given in your textbook or class. With the examples here, you might formulate questions based on the categories.

For example, 'pattern of subsistence' refers to how people make a living - how they survive, collect or produce or food, etc. So these would be questions about work - "how do you make a living?", "what is your source of income?", etc.

Thinking about Kinship systems would lead to questions about family and family structures. You could ask questions about who is in their family, how they define family, what the function of family is in their lives, etc.

So you can do this with the other categories as well - think about what each category is really about, and then come up with questions that get that kind of information from the people you are interviewing.
