Report Writing Guide

Do you use the website Wikipedia as a resource when writing reports?

I use Wikipedia as a guide for assistance but I do not use the website for writing reports.

Most of my professors frown upon using Wikipedia as an actual source, because it isn't highly credible. It is quite accurate, and tries hard to filter out all the crap, but sometimes some of it manages to sneak through (case in point: I once looked up the article for homosexuality, and I swear to God I distinctly read the sentence "If you erase this, I will cut off your penis." *eyeroll*) I use it when I need to know the basics of something, but I don't cite it as a source. Most of my classes require the use of scholarly articles anyway, and I don't even use Google for those. When on Yahoo! Answers, however, I think Wikipedia's perfectly fine.
