Write A Medical Report

write a medical report"write a medical report"
What does this medical jargon mean? Written on CT report.?

"The Thyroid gland is heterogenic and a mass lesion with retrosternal extention from the right side is noted. Minor subcentimetre mediastinal adenopathy is demonstrated." There was also mention of the deviation of the trachea to the right side.
Thanks for the info guys, can you tell me though, what this ultimately could mean? This is my Mother's CT, and the doctor has told her from the previous Xray that she has emphesyma, what could this mass be?

Ditto on Ladyluck's answer... also Radiologists will describe tissue as heterogenic when there is new tissue (genic) that is different (hetero) in composition from its surrounding tissue - in this case, your thyroid gland. Usually if there is an abnormality (such as deviation of the trachea) the Radiologist is required to mention it as well as take a measurement of how far deviated it is. It could be possible if he didn't mention it that it is not deviated noticably.
