What can I do to speed up writing a college paper?

I'm a college freshman who just got introduced to connecting different works into college level papers and I always have difficulty writing papers even in English AP. I just want to know if there are any tips to lessen the time so I don't end up pulling an all-nighter?

I wish I had this advice when I was a college freshman, this will save you a lot of time: Change the font size of all the periods in your paper, if it's in size 12 font, change it to 14 (or even higher if you'd like). The beauty of this is that it's not noticable (unlike margins or the entire paper's font). And the longer the paper, the more extra pages you'll get from using this trick.
