Do auditors have to do a lot of writing?
Is it difficult writing? I consider difficult writing, such as writing a resume, cover letter, or school admission essay, to be just about the most grueling task imaginable. Other types of writing are very simple and require very little thought. For example, legal secretaries do a lot of writing but it is basically form letters that they do so repetitiously that it is very easy for them. My undergrad was in liberal arts so I certainly am capable of lengthy writing assignments but I always hated writing. I am now a grad student in accounting and trying to decide between audit and tax; I think I prefer audit but I am worried about the writing. I know they have to write audit reports, working papers, etc. Would this suck for someone who hates writing? Or, is it basically like writing form letters and requires very little thought? Thanks so much!!
I think I see what you mean. Writing compact bullets like a resume vs. writing in more narrative is very differernt.
I would say the writing you do in auditing is something in between.
