What type of degree is best for someone wanting to get into writing for television and such?

What type of degree is best for someone who wants to write for television, movies and such?

I know you can get a degree in something called Video Production, but that seems to focus a lot more on the technical side of things rather than the creative side. and is there any difference between a degree in that and one in "Cinematography and Video Production"?

Would a BA degree in Cinema and Television Arts, be the best,? or is there something more specific out there for what I want to do.

Thanks,

The best, would be a masters in journalism, from a well known and respected university.

Degrees In Technical Writing

JOB INQUIRY: Basic Skills for Technical Writer?

There was an ad in the newspaper for a Technical Writer, and I thought about applying based on the listed qualifications, but I would like to know more from an experienced Technical Writer. The job requirements listed were & I quote:
-Associate's degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
-0-5 years technical writing experience
-Excellent use and comprehension of English language
-Technologic

First of all, I do not have an Associate's Degree, but I may have the "combination" of education & experience. In high school, I took four years of English Honors and Creative Writing; and whilst in college, I studied English for a year before quitting. My GPA was 3.8 in high school & 3.6 in college. Though I have no technical writing experience, I have freelance writing exp., which I have been developing since I was in middle school (and am now 24 years-old).

What are my chances?

u have a chance, but then again depends on how many qualfied applicants are trying to get that job
