Super Moon & Uranus Seem to Be Responsible for the Japanese Earth Quake Disaster

The world is holding its breath and praying for a miracle. Our hearts are wide open and we feel ourselves truly living in a global village. We feel helpless and under the waters emotionally. We are all one and connected inside and of course we will be impacted by fear and depression circling around the planet. What can we do?

For now we can only hold our head over water, do one step after the other. We can help the Japanese through our prayers and with money. Every dollar counts and Google has set up a link on their home page to the Red Cross to make it easy for people.

I am deeply impressed by the Japanese nature of calm and self-discipline to deal with the current situation. I think we can all learn from that; it is the best attitude to deal effectively with disasters.

What has happened astrologically?

The Super Moon

Right now the Moon is in the Waxing Crescent phase heading towards the Full Moon in Virgo on Saturday March 19. It is a so called an extreme Super Moon or lunar perigree because once in 18 years the Moon will pass by the closest on her path around the earth. We know about the waxing and waning Moon influencing the tides so there might be a connection.
A similar situation with a Super Moon and earth quakes occurred in Indonesia. An article in Business Insider pointed out that "the last Super Moon occurred a few days after the 8.9 earthquake in Indonesia" in 2005.

Divination astrologers have been predicting that this extreme Super Moon might bring strong earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, storms and other disasters. I don't believe in dwelling on all the potential catastrophes that can happen with a specific astrological constellation. Looking backward it is always easy to say this and that is the reason for what happened.

I am more interested to use astrology in the personal field where I can help my clients to prepare and have better choices with the application of the potential of astrology in their personal lives. And of course we are all impacted by these big constellations in a very personal way and need to deal with it the best we can. Consciousness is the key!

The well-known astrologer Jeff Jawer, who writes for dailyhoroscope.com, wrote: "This Super Moon happens the day before the Spring Equinox as the Sun enters Aries on March 20 and joins electrifying Uranus there on the 21st, which is more than enough astrological noise to create all kinds of chaos. Discerning the different influence of this explosive astrological event and the so-called Super Moon won't be easy."

Uranus Entered Aries on Friday

When a slow, outer planet changes sign it is always noticeable as we are confronted with a whole new set of principles and representations of it. Very close to the earth quake in Japan Uranus changed sign after his stay in Pisces for 7 years. Uranus is known for sudden eruption, change and sudden surprises. Aries is a fire sign and stands for new beginnings. You could call this combination very volatile and challenging. We can see it playing out not only with the earth quake but also with the wave of revolution igniting all over the world.

Where Does It Leave Us?

It leaves us with a sense of vulnerability and helplessness; both emotions which are difficult to experience. Whenever we feel out of control we might start doing something we can control to feel better. This morning I was considering cleaning out my totally overstuffed book closet which has been waiting for my attention for a long time. At least that is something useful I can do. I ended up writing this article and I might still move on to the closet…

It also leaves me with an open heart and the willingness to help and contribute to others in more dire straits. That is the high road to walk and cooperation is the only way to do the best for most people.

I am a member of the Community Emergency Response Team here on Maui. I am always concerned about people's preparedness for disaster sitting on a hot spot like we do here. We are vulnerable to earth quakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes as well as volcano eruptions. We were lucky that the Japanese tsunami didn't do too much damage to our island. In a disaster scenario there will be a time lag till any kind of official or international help will arrive. This is something you can prepare yourself for.

What You Can Do

As I have said before every household should have a minimum of water and non perishable food supplies for a week no matter where you live. The unexpected happens as we are just being taught.

If you live in a hot spot you should have an emergency bag packed with the essentials in case you have to leave your house to go to a shelter. You want to consider water, food, medicine you are on, clothes, underwear, books and games to help spend time. Nowadays you are allowed to bring your animal companions to the shelters but you need your cat or small dog in a carrier or leashed of course. Plan for their food as well!

Keep your intention on a solution for the Japanese reactors, pray for divine intervention and support on all levels of the universe. Take a look at your life and don't sweat the small stuff. Realize how blessed you are with family and friends: things that truly matter.
