Do you have to have a technical background to train as a technical writer? (like computer programming etc.) ?
A technical writing course can be completed in a few months, and the pay for work is pretty good. It seems a bit too good to be true. Am I missing something?
If you are good in language and you are familiar with the technical field you will be writing about, that’s all you need.
On the other hand, if you have no technical experience or formal technical training on the subject matter, you might either get it or forget it.
I do technical writing on the side but I have an engineering degree and thirty years of professional experience to back me up.
Hope this helps
