What are some animal related topics that can be used for multiple reports?
I am currently in a technical writing course in college and have been asked to find a topic to use for multiple reports. These reports include a topic memo, description memo, status report, analytical report, and final presentation. I am majoring in pre-veterinary medicine and would like to use an animal related topic that is broad enough to use for each of these projects. The first one we will be working on is the topic memo, so I'm just looking for a good topic now.

Animal rights comes to mind immediately.
Shelter care -- pros and cons of no-kill and high-kill shelters, costs, whose responsibility it should be to fund them, etc -- also covers a broad range.
How humans and animals get along, who needs whom most, and so on might also be interesting.
