What is the UK going rate for writing an Executive Summary (2000-2500 words) of a 55 page document?

I realise it all depends on the context and how long it's likely to take me but what would be a respectable figure? The context is that I would be summarising some academic research for a charity that has the budget to be able to pay workers. I have a lot of relevant experience in the area but am a little rusty in my report writing.

My contacts in research consultancies tend to charge by the day. I assume this gives a more professional impression than charging by the hour but would be interested in receiving some well-informed opinions on this.

You can get this done at a range of rates in the UK. If you send it to India it can be done for the equivalent of £7.50 per hour. In the UK I would expect to pay say £25 per hour
