Freelance Writing?
I have a degree in BA in Professional Writing and Editing. I mainly concentrated in Technical Writing so I don't have a "portfolio" of writing samples. I am getting mt BSAS in Civil Engineering this May and would like to poossibly do some freelance writing, but I am not sure where to start or what to look for. Any advice on how to get into this sort of profession on the side would be really helpful.
Contact magazines that publish on topics you're interested in and with which you're familiar. Ask their editorial staff for submission guidelines and examples of what they are generally interested in publishing. They will send you a sample edition and all the info you require.
