JOB INQUIRY: Basic Skills for Technical Writer?
There was an ad in the newspaper for a Technical Writer, and I thought about applying based on the listed qualifications, but I would like to know more from an experienced Technical Writer. The job requirements listed were & I quote:
-Associate's degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
-0-5 years technical writing experience
-Excellent use and comprehension of English language
-Technologic
First of all, I do not have an Associate's Degree, but I may have the "combination" of education & experience. In high school, I took four years of English Honors and Creative Writing; and whilst in college, I studied English for a year before quitting. My GPA was 3.8 in high school & 3.6 in college. Though I have no technical writing experience, I have freelance writing exp., which I have been developing since I was in middle school (and am now 24 years-old).
What are my chances?
