Need help finding the research paradigm for Fredrick Douglass. Sociology book report?

Im writing a sociology book report on "Narrative of the life of Fredrick Douglass" and one of the topics I need to address is which research paradigm does Douglass follow and it gives you structural-functional, social conflict, or symbolic interactionist. I'm a little confused. This is for a college paper so please add your reasoning for why. Thank you.

his work was infused with his realisation not only of
a)the inequality that he personally experienced but of
b)the basis of that inequality in the structures and cultural values of the society he was born into
c) his determination to change those unequal relationships
d) if necessary by a counteracting conflict

In doing this he also understood very welll the way that everyday interelationships both construct and areconstructed by this inequality..so like most conficit theorist he used interractionist concepts in his analysis of the broader strucures and cultural values.
