How to cite a critical essay within another text?
I'm writing a report and need to cite an essay that's within a book. The book contains a story (Charlotte Temple) and then essays on Charlotte Temple written by various authors.
The citation for the essay itself is (found at the back of the book):
“Susanna Rowson, Father of the American Novel.” In The (Other) American Traditions: Nineteenth-Century Women Writers (29-38). Ed. Joyce W. Warren. Piscataway, NJ: Rutgers University Press, 1993.
The citation for the book it is in; however, is this.
Rowson, Charlotte. Charlotte Temple: Authoritative Text, Contexts, Criticism. Ed. Marion Rust. New York: W.W. Norton &, 2011. Print.
I don't know if I mix both together somehow, or if I just do one or the other? Can anybody help me?
