Format For Writing Reports

Hypothesis- I'm finding it difficult to work this out.?

I'm writing in report format for a Legal Studies assignment and I'm required to write up a hypothesis. My report is based on protecting children from sexual predators. So if for my hypothesis I wrote "are Australian child safety laws doing enough to protect our children", would I be totally off track? I'm not sure. Any advice will be appreciated.

A hypothesis needs to be a statement therefore you should not phrase it as a question.

You should phrase the hypothesis either as "Australian child safety laws ARE doing enough to protect our children", or "Australian child safety laws ARE NOT doing enough to protect our children."

In the body of your report you need to give evidence to back up your hypothesis. E.g. "Australian child safety laws are effective because fewer children are abused in Australia than in other OECD countries".

That example was just something I made up but it gives you the general idea.
