I need help finding a full summary/report of the U.S. Recession?!?

i am writing a report on barack obama and in one of my paragraphs i will be talking about the conditions of the recession. YES I HAVE GOOGLED IT and i have been for the past 3 hours, i keep getting weird results i just need a simple summary of the causes (like the iraqi war) and some statistics. does anybody know where i can find this? and i cannot use wikipedia as a resource.

Well, you have to be patient. It is still being written and events are still unfolding. Go straight to the New York Federal Reserve web page and look at their many monthly reports. The San Francisco Fed has a good weekly in depth analysis. I'm sure they've written on specific parts of the recession and by finding the different ones you may have a full summary of events to date.

The cause was illiquidity of real estate derivative securities which cause credit to dry up.

Let me say it a different way.

A lot of investment based on borrowing lost value. Nobody would lend to anybody else because they thought they would not be paid back. Without credit doing business was impossible.

Iraq war had nothing to do with it. I read everything I'm saying here in one of the FED reports. They also have speeches given by FED officials. There are many that discuss the cause of the recession.
