Are these Computing attributtes hard or soft?
Hey, I have just started A level IT and i have a report to write for next week, but im a little confused on one thing, I have a list of IT job attributes and have to know if they're hard or soft, but im not sure. Can anyone help?
List:
-Strong Red Hat knowledge
-MySQL experience
-Clustering Experience
-Excellent communication skills
-Positive Approach
-Willingness to go the extra mile to provide best possible support
-An understanding of Firewalls
-VPN and SSL technologies
-A general Technical knowledge of networking, hardware, software and DNS
Can anyone tell me how its worked out?
Soft skills typically refer to people skills, where hard skills are technical skills
So, anything about O/S, programming languages, hardware, etc. are technical (or hard as you refer to it) skills. MySQL, Redhat, VPN, Firewalls, etc.
How to learn, react, do things, listen, lead, etc. are all soft skills. So, communication, +ve approach, extra mile.
