Write Incident Report

Writing Your First Screenplay

Introduction to the story, characters, location and time frame should usually be the start of the screenplay. Setup is an important part as the audiences have knowledge about the movie or the performance. It's better to start with a picture rather than an unknown voice on a blank screen as that will be good to absorb the audience into the story. The image can be of anyone, either that of the actor who plays the central role, or any place like his hometown, whatever conveys the theme? Like in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, a snake is shown crawling which later gets killed by Potter in order to save himself and the students.

Starting with characters interaction is also a good idea as the audience concentrate on them for a while to decide whether they want to pursue them or not and also keep them wondering about the plot of the story. But it's very important that whatever is portrayed in the first few scenes or the first ten minutes should be directly related to the story. If any irrelevant stuff is being displayed it will simply confuse the audience and can also make them lose interest.

After gaining audience's interest the next ten pages should explain about the unfolding of the story and at the same time holding the suspense of the story. Most of the characters can be introduced, environment can be created, past events can be enacted and the villain can also be introduced but that isn't a must. To build the suspense the villain can be pictured as a good guy but his reality comes to light after a bad incident or when he caught red handed by another character. But this shouldn't take long to test the patience of the viewers.

Next is the catalyst or the inciting incident which creates a twist in the movie. The normal flow of the story should be disrupted. The audience should be kept on their toes so as to retain their interest in the story. Questions like what do the characters want and what is obstructing them should be answered here.  After these questions are answered the next question will be very important, that whether the evil-doer will win in his plan. Until this question isn't answered the audience waits for something to happen, they wait for some action or they wait for the climax of the movie. If the antagonist doesn't win the story will have a happy ending and the characters will live happily ever after. But if he does win, then the story will have a tragic end and sometimes will result in the death of the main character. This is known as the first act of the movie.

The catalyst or the inciting incident can be depicted as small scenes which when linked creates a mystery or with the receiving of vital information by some character or as a clash between the good and the bad characters. In the movie "Disturbia" the hero watches reports on the television about missing girls and were later found murdered. In another scene, the hero hears a scream of a girl from his neighbor's house, who is also the antagonist of the movie.

Plot point one is the climax of the movie. It occurs after the first act. They are usually meant to surprise the audience with something unexpected with the occurrence of a pivotal event.  The main lead takes a risk and faces his opponent. And if it's a happy ending kind of a movie, the main lead gains victory over the villain by either killing him or making him learn a lesson. And if the story is supposed to have a sad ending, the villain gets away by causing harm to the good character. The last page should give an idea about what the future will be for all the characters and if it's a sequel, it should keep the audience guessing about the future.

Know About First Information Report (fir)

First Information report commonly known as the FIR is the first report about the commission of the cognizable offence to the police officer, which is reduced to writing by such police officer. The offences have been divided in two categories i.e. cognizable offence and non cognizable offence. Cognizable offences are those offences which are serious in nature and police may arrest the person without warrant. FIR can be lodge only in the cognizable offences. FIR is an important document which reaches the police first in point of time and set the criminal justice in motion and police starts investigation on it.

Normally the victim or his relatives lodge a complaint against offender. However, any person who has information regarding commission of a cognizable offence can lodge an FIR. Section 154 of the Code of Criminal procedure, 1973, prescribes the procedure to lodge an FIR. An FIR may be given orally or on telephone, but the same shall be reduced to writing by the police officer whom it is given. However, the rumors or the absurd information on telephone is not an FIR. The contents of the information must be clear giving the correct particulars about the time and place of incidence, name of informant and name of offenders, if the same are known. If the FIR is given orally by a person and reduced to writing by a police officer, the same shall be read over to the informant. The complaint should be signed or the thumb impression should be put on it A Copy of the information is provided to the informant free of cost.

If the information is not recorded by the officer incharge of police station, the substance of such information in writing may be send to the superintendent of the police concerned by post and if he is satisfied with the complaint he can direct the investigation. If no action is taken by Superintendent of the police, complaint under section 156(3) Cr.P.C1973 can be filed before a magistrate stating the substance of FIR and remedy exhausted i.e. failure of police to registered the FIR. The magistrate, if satisfied that a prima facie case is made out on such complaint, can pass an order for investigation and registration of FIR. A complaint to the human right Commission can also be made if the police failed to enforce the law or do it in the bias or corrupt manner.

The FIR should be given as soon as possible as the delay in the lodging of an FIR may go against the victim as the same raises doubts about the correctness of the facts stated in the FIR. The contents of FIR can’t be used in the evidence except for the purpose of corroborating and contradicting the informant. For further details write to azeez_nazar @yahoo.com.

How To Write A Incident Report

how to write a incident report"how to write a incident report"
what would a manager do in this case?

I had been trying to develope my merchandising lead to become merchandising manager (my current possition) for over 4 months now. She kept on leaving projects that i assigned to her unfinish and never write a report (like i asked her to do for ever project) so that i would know how the project is coming along. She also bad-mouthed me often behind my back and today she yelled at me, curse, and threaten me. Because i criticited her on her incompleted projects and i was very upset. She even talked very loudly to the Store assistant manager when we had a meeting with her after the incident. Now, i'm afraid to work with her and i don't know what i should do. Does anyone have any advice ?
Thank you

Take a step back and look at it from her perspective.

What reasons could she have to not finish her work?

Did you ask?

When she 'bad mouths' you, are the comments justified? Sorry thats a tough one, but better to know the answer early and be prepared.

(BTW : People WILL talk about you. Dont expect much praise and do yourself a faovor......dont listen)

How does her conduct affect the performance of your other subordinates?

List her good points and bad points. Do you praise her for her good points? Does this make her feel patronised?

Or.....is she just an uncooperative individual you could all well do without?

Get the list, prepare your case and talk to your manager in confidence. Show that you are looking for a solution and not a confrontation.
