Write Incident Report

Writing Your First Screenplay

Introduction to the story, characters, location and time frame should usually be the start of the screenplay. Setup is an important part as the audiences have knowledge about the movie or the performance. It's better to start with a picture rather than an unknown voice on a blank screen as that will be good to absorb the audience into the story. The image can be of anyone, either that of the actor who plays the central role, or any place like his hometown, whatever conveys the theme? Like in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, a snake is shown crawling which later gets killed by Potter in order to save himself and the students.

Starting with characters interaction is also a good idea as the audience concentrate on them for a while to decide whether they want to pursue them or not and also keep them wondering about the plot of the story. But it's very important that whatever is portrayed in the first few scenes or the first ten minutes should be directly related to the story. If any irrelevant stuff is being displayed it will simply confuse the audience and can also make them lose interest.

After gaining audience's interest the next ten pages should explain about the unfolding of the story and at the same time holding the suspense of the story. Most of the characters can be introduced, environment can be created, past events can be enacted and the villain can also be introduced but that isn't a must. To build the suspense the villain can be pictured as a good guy but his reality comes to light after a bad incident or when he caught red handed by another character. But this shouldn't take long to test the patience of the viewers.

Next is the catalyst or the inciting incident which creates a twist in the movie. The normal flow of the story should be disrupted. The audience should be kept on their toes so as to retain their interest in the story. Questions like what do the characters want and what is obstructing them should be answered here.  After these questions are answered the next question will be very important, that whether the evil-doer will win in his plan. Until this question isn't answered the audience waits for something to happen, they wait for some action or they wait for the climax of the movie. If the antagonist doesn't win the story will have a happy ending and the characters will live happily ever after. But if he does win, then the story will have a tragic end and sometimes will result in the death of the main character. This is known as the first act of the movie.

The catalyst or the inciting incident can be depicted as small scenes which when linked creates a mystery or with the receiving of vital information by some character or as a clash between the good and the bad characters. In the movie "Disturbia" the hero watches reports on the television about missing girls and were later found murdered. In another scene, the hero hears a scream of a girl from his neighbor's house, who is also the antagonist of the movie.

Plot point one is the climax of the movie. It occurs after the first act. They are usually meant to surprise the audience with something unexpected with the occurrence of a pivotal event.  The main lead takes a risk and faces his opponent. And if it's a happy ending kind of a movie, the main lead gains victory over the villain by either killing him or making him learn a lesson. And if the story is supposed to have a sad ending, the villain gets away by causing harm to the good character. The last page should give an idea about what the future will be for all the characters and if it's a sequel, it should keep the audience guessing about the future.

Know About First Information Report (fir)

First Information report commonly known as the FIR is the first report about the commission of the cognizable offence to the police officer, which is reduced to writing by such police officer. The offences have been divided in two categories i.e. cognizable offence and non cognizable offence. Cognizable offences are those offences which are serious in nature and police may arrest the person without warrant. FIR can be lodge only in the cognizable offences. FIR is an important document which reaches the police first in point of time and set the criminal justice in motion and police starts investigation on it.

Normally the victim or his relatives lodge a complaint against offender. However, any person who has information regarding commission of a cognizable offence can lodge an FIR. Section 154 of the Code of Criminal procedure, 1973, prescribes the procedure to lodge an FIR. An FIR may be given orally or on telephone, but the same shall be reduced to writing by the police officer whom it is given. However, the rumors or the absurd information on telephone is not an FIR. The contents of the information must be clear giving the correct particulars about the time and place of incidence, name of informant and name of offenders, if the same are known. If the FIR is given orally by a person and reduced to writing by a police officer, the same shall be read over to the informant. The complaint should be signed or the thumb impression should be put on it A Copy of the information is provided to the informant free of cost.

If the information is not recorded by the officer incharge of police station, the substance of such information in writing may be send to the superintendent of the police concerned by post and if he is satisfied with the complaint he can direct the investigation. If no action is taken by Superintendent of the police, complaint under section 156(3) Cr.P.C1973 can be filed before a magistrate stating the substance of FIR and remedy exhausted i.e. failure of police to registered the FIR. The magistrate, if satisfied that a prima facie case is made out on such complaint, can pass an order for investigation and registration of FIR. A complaint to the human right Commission can also be made if the police failed to enforce the law or do it in the bias or corrupt manner.

The FIR should be given as soon as possible as the delay in the lodging of an FIR may go against the victim as the same raises doubts about the correctness of the facts stated in the FIR. The contents of FIR can’t be used in the evidence except for the purpose of corroborating and contradicting the informant. For further details write to azeez_nazar @yahoo.com.

4 Signs Your Business Needs A Java Reporting System

When it comes to defining the health and financial state of a company, the only way to see all aspects is to have reporting software that is robust enough and flexible enough to deal with all the data. Many times companies have software packages from several different companies and the databases don't always cooperate. Having a package that you can easily customize is key. Java is a programming language that gives companies the ability to write exactly what they need, so getting a management reporting software package based on Java adds a level of flexibility not available with many others. Java reporting software enables you to take data from all aspects of your enterprise and integrate it so you can see what's going on.

Many businesses use a MySQL database while others prefer a single format like Microsoft SQL. Other businesses have specific applications which they have to customize their databases to them. And to complicate things even more, many accounting packages use proprietary databases.

Here are some signs you need a java reporting system:

- The biggest sign you need a java based system is if you've got several different databases in your business. You will have the ablility to import data from different sources with Java.
- Java based systems rapidly integrate all sorts of disparate datasets into a single dataset to work with reporting.
- J2EE reporting systems gives you the option to customize reports constantly to indicate your business changes.
- Java systems will export in virtually format as well. This means you can take reporting data from a custom designed production database, integrate it with accounting data and export it to any Microsoft Office format like Excel for graphing and charting.

With Java reporting tools, you will be able to get data from any database. Even if you're using custom built databases, pulling data for reports goes from a hassle to a breeze. Generating your reports will be as simple as a click of your mouse once the set-up on the import and reporting side is complete. Using other reporting solution methods can have a lot of uncertainty with them and the flexibility of Java reporting software can take care of that. Take a look at your needs and see just how easily Java based reporting software gives you the reporting solutions for your company. Being able to get a clear picture of the bottom line has never been so easy. Or so flexible.

In MS SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services, how do I use parameters/filters?

I am trying to use only a select set of values in my report from a particular table in the database I am using, as opposed to the entire list of values from the table. How would I use either parameters or filters to do that in MS SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services?

How can I get out of an Owner financed home if I need to move for a job relocation?

Been in the home for only 6 months. Builder/ Financer has broken contract and not completed all work stated by time stated. Will not answer mail, phone calls or emails, but cashes mortgage every month. He does not report to our credit and we dont want to hurt our credit, but need to find a way out.

You will not get out of a contract because of your job.

However, if you can prove the other party has breached the contract a judge may release you. you would need to file a breach of contract lawsuit.

How To Write A Incident Report

how to write a incident report"how to write a incident report"
what would a manager do in this case?

I had been trying to develope my merchandising lead to become merchandising manager (my current possition) for over 4 months now. She kept on leaving projects that i assigned to her unfinish and never write a report (like i asked her to do for ever project) so that i would know how the project is coming along. She also bad-mouthed me often behind my back and today she yelled at me, curse, and threaten me. Because i criticited her on her incompleted projects and i was very upset. She even talked very loudly to the Store assistant manager when we had a meeting with her after the incident. Now, i'm afraid to work with her and i don't know what i should do. Does anyone have any advice ?
Thank you

Take a step back and look at it from her perspective.

What reasons could she have to not finish her work?

Did you ask?

When she 'bad mouths' you, are the comments justified? Sorry thats a tough one, but better to know the answer early and be prepared.

(BTW : People WILL talk about you. Dont expect much praise and do yourself a faovor......dont listen)

How does her conduct affect the performance of your other subordinates?

List her good points and bad points. Do you praise her for her good points? Does this make her feel patronised?

Or.....is she just an uncooperative individual you could all well do without?

Get the list, prepare your case and talk to your manager in confidence. Show that you are looking for a solution and not a confrontation.

Writing Sql Reports

writing sql reports"writing sql reports"
Moderately difficult SQL/PHP question?

Okay so I'm trying to write a PHP script extracting from MySQL where I take data from two days from one user and compare the days.

From a certain table (call it TableA), I first need to get the days (I have the PHP code to get the dates dynamically, making it a non-issue here). Essentially, a query selecting the user and a certain day's total (call it total) where the date is a certain day (say, '2010-05-04').

Then I need to run another one, same thing, except '2010-05-03'

Then I need to join these two at user, and report their totals from each day in one column. From there, I can perform the calculations I need to run the correct report.

So is it possible to store the result of a query in PHP for later use?
Jeroonk:

Example

User Date #
Bob 2010-05-04 200
Bob 2010-05-03 150
Jim 2010-05-04 432
Jim 2010-05-03 500

To become:
Bob 150 200
Jim 500 432

Make sense?

Join the table with itself like so:

SELECT a.user AS user, a.total AS total1, b.total AS total2
FROM someTable a, someTable b
WHERE a.user = b.user
AND a.date = AND b.date =

How to Write a Report: Writing Reports

REPORT WRITING - HOW TO STRUCTURE AND WRITE REPORTS

Writing reports: why write reports, structure in report writing, how to write a report.

Report writing skills are sought after. Knowing how to write reports is useful. The techniques of writing reports are simple.

Report writing is in daily use. Writing reports is involved at school and at work. Students have to write reports. Writing reports is part of a teacher's job. Report writing is routine in the public and civil services. Before a law is passed a select committee writes a report. Business executives write reports.

Employees and students find it difficult to write a report. If they have to write a long report they get confused. Keep your cool ~do not end up as in one of the anecdotes of the Cypriot columnist and teacher the late Orhan Seyfi Ari, about a radio broadcast of a boxing match between Abdi and Bandinelli annoucing the winner as Abdinelli -do not get excited. Learn the techniques of writing reports. The techniques of writing a report are easy to learn. Report writing is not difficult. Writing reports is easy -whether short or long reports.

Here is how to write a report: the techniques of report writing…

In report writing we need to know: What is Report writing… The Object of Writing Reports… How to Write a Report. Then writing a report becomes easy -we can write a report…

What is Report Writing

Report writing begins with being asked to write a report. Reports are almost always asked for, and are documents - short or substantial in size. Writing a report is examining a given problem or issue and suggesting a practical solution.

The Object of Writing Reports

Writing reports is for a purpose. Report writing must not defeat its object. When you are asked to write a report, you are provided information. You are expected to competently analyse that information, draw consistent conclusions, and make sensible and practical recommendations in your report.

Before writing a report you must be clear on your brief. You can not write a report usefully without being sure of its object. In writing reports it helps to also clarify the information provided. Report writing can fail in its object by the assignor assuming that you have some of the needed information. Be absolutely clear of the object of the report, and of the adequacy of the information you have, before writing reports. the object of writing reports is to offer directly related suggestions.

In report writing bear in mind that the assignor may have incomplete information affecting even the object of writing the report. In Britain only after one & a half months of preparations to set up a national lottery to be run by the government was it discovered that in English law it had to be contracted out. You may be told "You should've asked!" Beware, in writing reports.

The object of writing reports is so dependent on relevant information that the Xerox corporation had set up a village for years for its researchers to obtain adequate information before writing reports on the future effects of computer data storage media on use of photo copying machines and paper.

When you are asked to write a report, while do not assume the role of a researcher, do be clear on what is wanted and of the information provided. The object of report writing is to find practical solutions to issues of briefs to write reports on.

How to Write a Report

Having clarified the issue on which you are to write a report, and the information necessary for your writing a report, you need to ensure the essential in report writing: consistency.

For this, use the techniques of writing reports. These are: Preparing to Write Reports... Presentation in Writing a Report.

You cannot write reports consistently without data preparation. Presentation in writing a report helps show its consistency.

Preparing to write reports: If the issue is detailed and you are writing a report that is substantial you may choose to use specialist computer software. Else, this is a must in such report writing: List different data on separate sheets of paper in a ring-binder -to arrange or re-arrange easily and logically as the data for the report you are writing accumulates.

Presentation in writing a report: Report writing techniques of presentation involve: structure, enclosures, index and title.

>>> Structure in report writing:-

1. Begin with a brief summary of the main points of your report. Enable the person who you asked you to write the report, at a glance, to see the gist of it.

... In the first paragraph briefly tell what the report is going to tell. If you are writing a long report, use a separate page.

2. Then, in telling what you said your report was going to tell, keep the detail logical, clear and simple -easy to read…

… If writing a technical report don't clutter it with statistical-data, tables, graphs. If such make a report difficult to read attach them as enclosures or appendices, refer to them. In writing long reports use dividers, colour-tags -too many irritate.

… Do not use jargon in report writing. When writing a report be direct and specific -write a report that is easily to comprehend.

4. End reports as begun. When writing reports, end them, again, with a brief summary of the main points. Tell the report's reader, briefly, what you have told in detail. Write reports with endings that enable every person you write a report for at a glance to see the gist of the report's main points.

>>> Enclosures in writing a report:-

5. When you write a report ensure that each enclosure is clearly marked, easily distinguishable from others attached.

… In writing the report refer to each enclosure as marked.

… Attach the enclosures in the order referred to in the report.

>>> Index in writing reports:-

6. After you write a report add an index -or a 'contents' page.

… Do so after word-processing the report with page numbers.

>>> Title in report writing:-

7. When you write reports you need titles-pages for them.

… The title-page should be the first in the report you write.

… In report writing the title page contains: the title of the report, the date finished writing the report, and the reference number (if any) of the party who asked you to write the report.

These techniques of writing reports ensure easy report writing.
