My computer does a memory crash dump/blue screen. HELP?! I don't know anything about computers- what do I do?!?

Blue screen says newly installed hardware or sodftwear is a likely issue. I have downloaded nothing new. My Micro Trend security says they found a problem in the latest updated. (been saying that for months but still wont work) Blue screen has technical info: STOP: 0x00000116 (0x87e46510, 0x8f80fe80, 0x00000000, 0x00000002)

I know nothing! Please help! And if you give me an answer write it slow and careful as if you were trying to explain what to do to a complete idiot! :-D Thanks in advance!

The stop error 0x00000116 is caused by your graphics card driver (NVLDDMKM.sys) card becoming corrupted in some way.

Nvidia has released a new driver for your graphics card with a date of March 3, 2009. You can download it at the
following website.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_182.08_whql.html

So unless you have downloaded this driver in the last several days, your version may be outdated.

First uninstall all Nvidia related software from uninstall programs:
Click Start -> Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features

Then:

Complete Delete and Reinstall of drivers:

1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌ If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. Double-click the category containing your device driver, and then double-click the name of the device you want to Uninstall.
3. Click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall.
4. If there is a Delete the driver software for this device box, check it (make sure you have internet connectivity so that you may reacquire these drivers). Read and Confirm Notification, click OK.
5. Exit Device Manager, and restart your computer.
6. You will be prompted with Found New Hardware. Select Locate and install driver software. Confirm permissions. Windows will now search for your hardware driver and reinstall it.

What type of system do you have installed?

Click Start -> right-click Computer -> select Properties. In the System window, under System next to System type: it will show you 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System.

If it is 64 instead of 32 look for those drivers on Nvidia's website. then reinstall your display software.
