What do you do w/a "Professional Writing" Certificate?
i'm only a few credits/classes away from fulfilling the requirements for a "Professional Writing" cert.
my uni. also offers a "Technical Writing" cert. but i'm not applicable for that...just note that it's not the same thing
what's a Prof. Writing Cert. good for?
would it be good in this economy?
maybe in the future?
thanks
:)
it would be in addition to my English + Education major/cert. program
would I get anywhere diff. if I add a "Professional Writing" Cert. w/this?
or do you think it would be a waste of time/money?

: . . . ..
Professional writers are probably good at written communication (duh) and will be extremely successful at preparing resumes for job-seekers. It goes without saying that the current economic climate puts you in a good place and since the services are tax deductible you will be in luck assuming you can find people willing to pay for your services.
I do not think the certificate will help you if you are paying more for the certificate. If, in the normal courseload, you can obtain it, go for it but you will likely see little money for having the certificate.
