Uni report - i have to write about a subject of my choice, but im unsure of what subjects will meet criteria.?

I am studying hnc building studies and have been asked to write a report for my study skills assignment. The report must include statistical information, diagrams, must answer a question and must give reccomendations on the topic chosen. I was thinking about writing about jet engines but i cant really give reccomendations on them. Anyone got any ideas? cheers

I suggest that you check with your tutor that the topic will be okay - and they may have some ideas of any recommendations you could reach, if jet engines is okay! However, I know you say it can be a subject of your choice, but what exactly do jet engines have to do with building studies?! And what will the question be that you must answer?

Why not do something like your local airport - where people fly to from there, and so on. Your question could be on whether the terminus should be rebuilt (based on things like how old the building is, how many it was built to cater for and how many use it now). Do not use any financial arguments, however, that makes it too difficult, and is not part of your remit! The statistics used will show how passengers have increased in time, how much they are likely to grow in the future and so on! I am not talking about getting another runway, or expanding the airport, just a new terminus so it copes better with the number of users!
