Letter Drafting And Report Writing

Is a counselor's letter of recommendation necessary for Stanford?

I'm applying to Stanford for the Fall 2010 term and I already have two letters from my teachers.
Apart from my secondary school reports and a few basic questions in the CommonApp page, does my counselor HAVE to write me a recommendation letter? Or the two I mentioned above enough?

Also, my teachers are okay with me drafting the letters and asking for their approval later. What should I ideally say about myself that would impress the admissions office?

The counselors letter is considered by most schools to be the schools recommendation and as such is necessary./
