How to Write and Submit Online Press Releases Like a Pro
Writing online press releases can help boost your business's online credibility significantly as well as help you get valuable information out to your customers and potential customers. If there is a particular event coming up, a current promotion or exciting news dealing with your company, it's a great idea to share that information with people who are interested, your customers.
Sending out press releases to journalists as well as distributing them to online press release sites and bloggers on a regular basis will increase your sales and build your online reputation. However, in order to begin, you must first know how to write a good press release that won't hurt your business. In order to write a successful press release you need to know what information to include. Here are 8 things that you must keep in mind while writing a press release.
1.Think about who you are trying to reach. Keep in mind the audience you are trying to speak to and don't veer off course. Don't use technical business jargon that your readers won't understand. Remember that many people who read online only skim, so keep the paragraphs short and interesting or you'll lose your readers.
2. Come up with an enticing headline. What good is a well-written press release if the headline is so boring that no one will click on it? Remember to keep it short, you only have a few seconds to catch a Web surfer's attention.
3. Find news-related material to write about. Timely, news-worthy press releases will grab readers' attention. Write about a new product or service, industry trends, helpful tips that deal with your business, receiving an award or involvement in a charity, sponsoring an event, opening a new office, etc. The topics are endless; you just have to keep your eyes open for an interesting news story.
4. Include the 5 W's. When writing the press release, make sure to always include information such as "who, what, where, why and when." This is particularly important when you are writing about an event.
5. Always include quotations. Using quotes gives a human interest appeal to the story and makes it more interesting. Include at least one or two in every press release you write.
6. Keep style in mind. When writing an online press release, inverted pyramid style is the best. This is what reporters use for news stories, because it present the most newsworthy information at the beginning followed by the less-crucial details. Writing in inverted pyramid style catches the attention of readers and ensures that even if they drop off after a few paragraphs and stop reading, they still got the most important information.
7. Include keywords. In order to get your press release indexed in Google as fast as possible, make sure to include at least 1-2 keywords. There should be a keyword in the title as well as a few in the body of the PR. This will help people who are searching online stumble across your press release, and they'll be more likely to read it.
8. Provide contact information. Every press release needs to include the name, phone number and email address of at least one contact within the company. This will be the person who will take the phone calls and requests from reporters or others who are inquiring about the information in the press release. Also include the name and address of the company.
After you've written a press release, the next step is to distribute it. There are many press release submission sites online, however, this task can be extremely tedious because each PR should be submitted to several sites. Also you should be submitting a new press release to multiple sites frequently. Here are 3 tips for distributing online press releases.
1. Come up with a plan. Establish goals that you want to reach with your press release campaign and figure out a plan so you can reach those goals. Remember that every press release your write and submit should act as a stepping stone to eventually accomplishing those goals.

I have a website, www.sv4kids.com, that is now ready for trip reports. We all want to know why you like any amusement park, water park, zoo, aquarium etc in the world. You can express yourself in photos, trip reports, or even videos. This is not a business, and your input helps others decide what to do this summer. So please take some time to write a story, and I give you my word that it will be posted now, and for many years to come, and not vanish like chat rooms or news groups.
My family and I enjoyed The Great Wolf Lodge overall...lots of variety from food to entertainment as well as sleeping accommodations... the environment was so wonderful and the staff was very pleasant.

Mission Impossible ? - Make Your Mission Work for You
In the many, many meetings that I have had with business owners, entrepreneurs, managers, company boards, department heads and, just as importantly, those key individuals working in the operational activities of a business one of the issues that generated the widest spectrum of response from participants was that of Mission Statements.
In order to clarify why mission statement have become so important, I first sought out a description of the word “mission” and differentiate between this and “Vision Statements” that also appear in many company profiles.
Vision –“ the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be: prophetic vision; the vision of an entrepreneur”; that is more prophetic, less specific and somewhat tenuous. ( I do recommend that you take a brief excursion to The Body Shop website and click “About” where a perfect example of Anita Roddick’s vision can be found.
After excluding all those definitions of “mission” relating to missionary work, armed forces operations and some rather obscure references to “personal relationships” I decided that this one was probably the most appropriate and the most relevant source for further development in this article;
Mission - “an assigned or self-imposed duty or task; calling; vocation”.
So this is the “mission” in our “mission statements”.
During the “fact-finding” phase of my consultancy projects I interview from all levels of the business (if it is an ongoing concern) and/or with the key decision makers and directors as possible. Their respective position regarding their company mission statement is about as varied and unique as the fingerprints of those individuals with whom I am interviewing. How long should they be? What are the key elements that need to be expressed and what, if any, can be implied? Who has input into the wording? Who is responsible for communicating and measuring the results? Should it be an internally constructed document or is it worth investing in savvy marketing and business agencies?
“Mission statement? It’s one of those marketing things isn’t it?”
“What’s that?”
Oh yes, my boss told us about that in the annual department review.”
“Is that Tom Cruise’s latest film?”
You get the picture.
I have seen mission statements that read like the blueprints for Napolean’s march on Stalingrad (and proved to be as effective!) and those which seemed to have been scribbled hastility on the back of an envelope whilst waiting in the rain for a cab.
So, thought I, what is the point of a mission statement?
Who should participate in it’s formulation?
How relevant is it to the actual daily workings of a business?
How, if at all, should it be communicated?
Is there a way to construct an effective statement and how best to ensure that it is relevant to the business and, in my opinion more importantly, its staff?
The following examples a typical specimen and highlights my point perfectly; and, for all you budding company lawyers out there, the names have been changed to protect the innocent!
Company 1
Original statement:
“To be the best seller of teddy bears in the country” Well, that’s straight-forward enough, you may say, clear, memorable and, assuming that they sell teddy bears, appropriate; but let me expand a little by breaking down the statement;
“To be” ….. well, so far so good. It states that the company is focussed on “becoming” something; a statement of intent on improving, or retaining their position in the teddy bear market. Ok – let’s move on.
…. “the best” ….. Well, not quite so good here – the best at what? Number of teddy bear sales?; the nicest to deal with?; the largest mark up?; the strongest brand?; the highest customer satisfaction results?; who measures and decides “the best”?; - you see my point?
… “seller of teddy bears” … what type of teddy bear?; what if they want to branch out into other cuddly, furry animals?; what about what about product reliability/returns?; where is the after-sales service?;
… “in the country”. Fairly straightforward here you may think but does this mean the they will never sell abroad?; is “the country” England, the UK, Great Britain? And finally, over what period is the measurement going to take place? Over a sales year or on that 3rd Thursday in June last year, you remember, following the Great teddy bear plague of old London town.
So, whilst I have not exhausted all of the potential weaknesses in the statement I am sure that you see my point. Now onto who should be aware of this mysterious mission statement? Is it just something on the management To Do List and tucked away in the board room with the original business plan and the pile of pens that came back from the printers with the wrong coloured logo?
In my opinion, whether you are writing a mission statement or a shopping list, if you aren’t going to use it, don’t bother writing it out in the first place. If it suits your business to slowly meander down the aisles browsing at the latest exotic products, picking something from here, something else from there and hoping that there is enough money in your purse to pay for it all when you are done then so be it; but I think we all know the folly of that method. In which case, let’s revisit the above statement so that I may present you with some alternative thoughts;
“To be ….” – all OK here for now so let’s move on.
… “the best” … - say’s who? It could be more specific. The number of items sold; the value of total sales; incorporate some customer satisfaction feedback; consider all aspects of the sale so that stakeholders, managers and staff all understand what and how they become “the best”.
… “seller of teddy bears” …. Maybe expand seller to include distribution, service and maintenance, industry measurements; product development; other products and supplementary/complimentary product revenues.
… “in the country”. This may be enough but the more specific the target market then the more easily achievements can be monitored, measured and communicated.
Next I considered the range of responses that I received regarding who should be aware of the statement. Unfortunately, in the vast majority of cases, the mission statement seemed to be something that senior management and company directors were aware of (although an embarrassing number could not accurately recite to me their own company statement word for word and some hardly even had the gyst of it!) and the more I discussed it with line and operational staff, the less there was any awareness and even less association of and with it. It struck me then, and more so now, that the directors/board were missing a massive opportunity. That of not only being clear and precise about the direction, values and performance criteria of the company but also that unless some, if not all, of the key measures incorporated into the mission statement were filtered down throughout the whole organisation then the chance of actually achieving the required results were far less likely. Incorporating statement values into management objectives and staff targets, whether qualitative or quantitative, invariably improved results at an individual, departmental and company level.
I wish to expand on the principle a little further and maybe make something of a bold statement;
Vision statements and Mission statements ARE NOT THE EXCLUSIVE territory of businesses. There, I have said it! You can come up with your own. In my dealings with personal development coaches as well as many business coaches it is clear that the principles to improvement and achievement are similar. They require clarity and focus; intent and commitment. Also a method of measurement and a timeframe in which to gauge the results.
Try it for yourself. It does not have to be overly sophisticated but you DO have to be honest and realistic with yourself (and/or your fellow business/life partners) which is frequently a larger stumbling block than first anticipated!
I am pretty certain that Napolean did not stand upon a hilltop on the Russian border and recite his mission statement to the troops but maybe if he had done they would have given him direct and relevant feedback about the Russian winter, supply and logistics issues, ammunition supplies and the tactics of the opposition – all vital elements indeed in a campaign to expand his unique “product” into an unknown but attractive new market.
I have unfortunately witnessed the pain of businesses that start with the best intentions, products and energy only to flounder because they were not actually sure what they wished to achieve. Market share, most sales, better work/life balance, locations abroad etc etc – all admirable and valid hopes but without a co-ordinated, defined and specific mission they lost their way. Sad but true. I will close by loosely para-phrasing a well known but under-deployed saying by Mark Twain;
“if you don’t know where you are going, how do you know when you get there?
Think about it – for yourself AND your business.
What is the point of a mission statement?
Your mission statement should be just that !! It is a description of EXACTLY what you wish to achieve, how you are going to achieve it, what resources are required, the timescale and an appropriate series of measurements/performance indicators.
How long should the mission statement be?
Clearly there is no absolute and definitive answer here as it very much depends upon the size and scope of your (business or personal) mission !!; but that said, I have found that as independent business owners and SME management teams start to truly focus on their mission (and have sorted the “would likes” from the “must haves” and the “vision” from the “mission”) that the average size is usually between 1500 and 2000 words; half to a full size A4 sheet in other words.
What are the key elements that need to be expressed and what, if any, can be implied?
Again this is personal/business specific BUT key elements that typically create the most effective statements include;
Product/service revenue and/or profits
Quantity measures (of volume)
“Traffic”/visitors
Reference to Return on Investment
Brand awareness
Customer feedback/satisfaction
Market share
Corporate Social Responsibility/Environmental issues
Product development/investment
Corporate values
Timescales
Fixed measurement criteria
Staff development/satisfaction
Stakeholder satisfaction
The important issue really is to be clear, honest and realistic!
Who should participate in it's formulation?
Simply, the key decision makers MUST be the key delivery mechanism and vice versa. The mission must be CREATED AND OWNED by the people/person/team that will be responsible for delivering it. Inclusion in the creation process of your mission ensures a mission that is clear, comprehensive and relevant.
How relevant is it to the actual daily workings of a business?
In a word, vital. Integral to your daily activities, your resource and time planning, your measurements and reports, the mission should be behind every objective, strategy and task – from the Chairman to the trainee, from the field to the desk, first thing in the morning to last thing at night. It IS that important if you want it to work. And why would you not ??
How, if at all, should it be communicated?
This is more sensitive. Some of the mission MAY include sensitive activities, data or targets and discretion is required but as a general comment, open and clear communication usually encourages support and understanding which, in my experience, is the best way to deal with people. If you are completing a “personal” mission then who you tell is clearly up to you but generally, if you need support then tell those who you may require to help why you are doing it and what you hope to achieve. In a business environment, keep it visible wherever reasonable and possible.
Is there a way to construct an effective statement and how best to ensure that it is relevant to the business and, in my opinion more importantly, its staff?
Typically, involve the “key players”. Inclusion invites support. Brainstorm. Detach and review. Filter out the generalizations and exploit the creativity of the participants. Word and re-word but BE SPECIFIC and clear. It is not always possible nor is it realistic to include everyone but if a person or team or department is vital to the business, and therefore to the mission, then their inclusion in the process usually ensures their support of its delivery. Imposition is possible but incorporation is preferred.
Should it be an internally constructed document or is it worth investing in savvy marketing and business agencies?
Honestly? – both!!! There are excellent resources out there but I have found that generally, once the creative ball is rolling, the momentum is from the owners and not the agency. Good coaches/consultants bring independence and detachment. They do not get hooked up on “restrictions” such as people, politics or internal point scoring. They bring calm to the creative storm BUT the business/person owns the mission and I have seen too many times money wasted on savvy marketing agencies that steer the decisions or delay and extend the process for their own goals. Also, ensure that when you engage a consultant that they are capable and available to move the mission statement to the next level – how can you deliver it ???
It is an essential phase of business development and direction; don’t invest time and energy into something that sits in a drawer.
Your mission is the starting point – making it work is the next step !!!!!

I'm writing reports for my partner who is a private investigator. I want to find a service where he can phone-in and leave 5-10 minute messages about his investigations while he's out driving around, that I can later listen to and transcribe into reports.
A much more practical method would be for him to use a digital voice recorder that has a USB connection (most include a USB cable; that's an easy way to know that you are looking at a suitable model).
Back at the office, the recorder would be connected to a konfuzer to transfer the recordings, from which the paper version would be generated.
Some recorders now include Dragon voice-recognition software, or at least are compatible with it; using such a voice-to-text program could make the process much less time-consuming (provided everything worked right).
Otherwise, an old-fashioned answering machine that didn't limit incoming-message time would do it.

Formation and early years (19851987)

Dream Theater was formed in September 1985 when guitarist John Petrucci and bassist John Myung decided to form a band in their spare time while studying at the Berklee College of Music. The pair came across drummer Mike Portnoy in one of Berklee's rehearsal rooms, where he was asked to join the band. The trio started off by covering Rush and Iron Maiden songs in the rehearsal rooms at Berklee.
Myung, Petrucci, and Portnoy settled on the name Majesty for their newly formed group. According to the The Score So Far... documentary, they were waiting in line for tickets to a Rush concert at the Berklee Performance Center while listening to the band on a boom box. Portnoy commented that the ending of the song "Bastille Day" (from the album Caress of Steel) sounded "majestic". It was then decided that Majesty would be the band's name.
The trio then set out to fill the remaining positions in the group. Petrucci asked his high school band-mate Kevin Moore to play keyboards. After accepting the position, another friend from home, Chris Collins, was recruited as lead vocalist after band members heard him sing a cover of "Queen of the Reich" by Queensrche. During this time, Portnoy, Petrucci, and Myung's hectic schedules forced them to abandon their studies to concentrate on their music, as they did not feel they could learn more in college. Moore also left his college, SUNY Fredonia, to concentrate on the band.

The beginning months of 1986 were filled with various concert dates in and around the New York City area. During this time, the band recorded a collection of demos, titled The Majesty Demos. The initial run of 1,000 sold out within six months, and dubbed copies of the cassette became popular within the progressive metal scene. The Majesty Demos are still available in their original tape format today, despite being released officially on CD, through Mike Portnoy's YtseJam Records.
In November 1986, after a few months of writing and performing together, Chris Collins was fired. After a year of trying to find a replacement, Charlie Dominici, who was far older and more experienced than anyone else in the band, successfully auditioned for the group. With the stability that Dominici's appointment brought to Majesty, they began to increase the number of shows played in the New York City area, gaining a considerable amount of exposure.
Shortly after hiring Dominici, a Las Vegas group also named Majesty threatened legal action for intellectual property infringement related to the use of their name, so the band was forced to adopt a new moniker. Various possibilities were proposed and tested, among them Glasser, Magus, and M1, which were all rejected until Portnoy's father suggested the name Dream Theater, the name of a movie house in Monterey, California.
When Dream and Day Unite (19881990)

With their new name and band stability, Dream Theater concentrated on writing more material while playing more concerts in New York and in neighboring states. This eventually attracted the attention of Mechanic Records, a division of MCA. Dream Theater signed their first record contract with Mechanic on June 23, 1988 and set out to record their debut album. The band recorded the album at Kajem Victory Studios in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. Recording the basic tracks took about 10 days, and the entire album was completed in about 3 weeks.
When Dream and Day Unite was released in 1989 to far less fanfare than the band had anticipated. Mechanic ended up breaking the majority of the financial promises they had made to Dream Theater prior to signing their contract, so the band was restricted to playing around New York City. The promotional tour for the album consisted of just five concerts, all of which were relatively local. Their first show was at Sundance in Bay Shore, New York opening for the classic rock power trio Zebra.
After the fourth show, Dominici was fired because of personal and creative differences. Shortly after, however, the band Marillion asked Dream Theater to open for them at a gig at the Ritz in New York, so Dominici was given the opportunity to perform one last time. It would be another two years before Dream Theater had a replacement vocalist.

Following Dominici's firing, Dream Theater fought successfully to be released from their contract with Mechanic, and set about auditioning singers and writing material for their next album. In their search for a new singer, they auditioned over 200 people, among them former Fates Warning front man John Arch; all were turned down. In mid-1990, at a gig in New York, Dream Theater introduced Steve Stone as their new singer. He performed just three songs with the band before he was fired for performing less than adequately. It was five months before Dream Theater played another show, this time all-instrumental (under the name YtseJam). Until 1991, the band remained focused in an attempt to hire another singer and writing additional music. It was during this period that they wrote the majority of what would become the 1992's Images and Words.
In January 1991, Kevin James LaBrie, of glam metal band Winter Rose, was flown from Canada to New York for an audition. LaBrie jammed on three songs with the band, and was immediately hired to fill the vocalist position. Once recruited, LaBrie decided to drop his first name to avoid confusion with the other Kevin in the band. For the next few months, the band returned to playing live shows (still mostly around NYC), while working on vocal parts for the music written before acquiring LaBrie. Derek Shulman and ATCO Records (now EastWest), a division of Elektra Records, signed Dream Theater to a seven album contract based on a three song demo (later made available as "The ATCO Demos" through the Dream Theater fan club).
The first album to be recorded under their new record contract was 1992's Images and Words. For promotion, the label released a CD Single and video clip for the song "Another Day," but neither made significant commercial impact. The song "Pull Me Under", however, managed to garner a high level of radio airplay without any organized promotion from the band or their label. In response, ATCO produced a video clip for "Pull Me Under", which saw heavy rotation on MTV. A third video clip was produced for "Take the Time", but it was not nearly as successful as "Pull Me Under".
The success of "Pull Me Under", combined with relentless touring throughout the U.S. and Japan, caused Images and Words to achieve gold record certification in the States and platinum status in Japan. A tour of Europe followed in 1993, which included a show at London's famed Marquee Club. The show was recorded and released as Live at the Marquee, Dream Theater's first official live album. Additionally, a video compilation of their Japanese concerts (mixed in with documentary-style footage of the off-stage portion of the tour) was released as Images and Words: Live in Tokyo.

Eager to work on fresh material, Dream Theater retreated to the studio in May 1994. Awake, Dream Theater's third studio album, was released on October 4, 1994 in a hail of controversy among fans. Shortly before the album was mixed, Moore announced to the rest of the band that he was simply no longer interested in touring, nor did he favor the style of music Dream Theater performed and would be quitting Dream Theater to concentrate on his own musical interests. As a result, the band had to scramble to find a replacement keyboardist before a tour could be considered. The album was received very well by both critics and fans. The album has been seen by some as Dream Theater's darkest album mainly due to lyrical content with many of the songs dealing with internal conflicts. For example, "The Mirror" explores the topic of alcoholism, from which Portnoy was recovering at the time.
Jens Johansson, who would go on to become a member of Stratovarius, was among the biggest names to audition, however the band members were eager to fill the position with keyboardist Jordan Rudess. Portnoy and Petrucci had come across Rudess in Keyboard Magazine, where he was recognized as "best new talent" in the readers' poll. The two invited him to play a trial gig with the band at the Concrete Foundations Forum in Burbank, California. For the members of Dream Theater, the show went incredibly well, and Rudess was asked to fill the keyboardist position permanently, however Rudess opted to tour with The Dixie Dregs instead, since it granted him more personal latitude. Disappointed, Dream Theater hired fellow Berklee alumnus Derek Sherinian, whose previous work included stints with Alice Cooper and Kiss, to fill in for the Awake promotional tour. By the conclusion of the tour, the band decided to take Sherinian on as Moore's full-time replacement.

Once again finding themselves with a new member, Dream Theater did not immediately start working on new material. Fans around the world, united on the YtseJam Mailing List (the most popular form of communication between Dream Theater fans at that point), had started placing pressure on the band to officially release the song "A Change of Seasons". It had been written in 1989 and was intended to be a part of Images and Words, but at almost 17 minutes, it was deemed too long for studio placement. However, the band did perform it live on occasion while continuing to revise it in the years leading up to 1995.
The petition was successful, and the group entered BearTracks Studios in New York in May 1995 to rewrite and record the 23 minute song with Sherinian contributing significantly to the final product. To disseminate "A Change of Seasons", the band released it as an EP along with a collection of cover songs recorded live at the Uncovered fan club gig.
After a short run of small concerts to promote A Change of Seasons, Dream Theater took a break for a few months. To keep busy, however, the band released a special Christmas CD through their official fan club, consisting of rare live tracks recorded during the band's early years. They continued releasing a new CD each Christmas until 2005. Also during the break the individual members set out to write compositions for their upcoming collaborative writing sessions.
Meanwhile, there were several changes at EastWest, and Dream Theater's main contact within the label was fired. As a result, the new team at the company were unaccustomed to the relationship Dream Theater had with former EastWest personnel, and they pressured Dream Theater to write an album that was more accessible. In mid-1997, they entered the studio to write their next album. In addition to pressuring the band to adopt a more mainstream sound, EastWest recruited writer/producer Desmond Child to work with Petrucci on polishing the lyrics to his song "You Or Me". The whole band substantially reworked the music to the song, and it appeared on the album as "You Not Me" with a chorus that was barely reminiscent of the original. Child also had a noticeable impact on the album, with a shift towards compositions that were less complex and more radio-friendly.
The band wrote almost two CDs worth of material, including a 20 minute long follow-up to the Images and Words song "Metropolis Part 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper". The label, however, did not allow the release of a double album because it felt that a 140-minute record would not be digestible by the general public. James LaBrie also felt that the CD should be a single disc. The unused songs were later released in the Ytsejam Records release The Falling Into Infinity Demos.
The material that made it onto the album proper was released as Falling Into Infinity, which received a mixed reception from fans who were more familiar with the band's earlier sound. While the album was moderately progressive-sounding, tracks such as "Hollow Years" and "You Not Me" prompted some to believe it was the dawn of a new, mainstream-sounding Dream Theater. Overall, the album was both a critical and commercial disappointment. Although Portnoy didn't speak out publicly at the time, many years later, in the 2004 DVD commentary for 5 Years in a Livetime, he revealed that he had been so discouraged during this period he'd considered disbanding Dream Theater altogether.
During the European leg of the Touring Into Infinity world tour, two shows were recorded for a live album entitled Once in a LIVEtime, in France and The Netherlands. The album was released at around the same time as the video 5 Years in a Livetime, which chronicled the time from when Kevin Moore left the band up to the Falling Into Infinity promotional tour.
Scenes from a Memory and Metropolis 2000 (19992001)
In 1997, Magna Carta Records' Mike Varney invited Portnoy to assemble a progressive 'supergroup' to work on an album, which would become the first in a long string of side-projects for the members of Dream Theater. The lineup consisted of Portnoy on drums, Petrucci on guitar, Tony Levin on bass, and keyboardist Jordan Rudess, who had finished with the Dixie Dregs. The band assumed the name Liquid Tension Experiment, and would act as a medium through which Portnoy and Petrucci could once again court Rudess to join Dream Theater. In 1999, he accepted an offer to become the third full-time Dream Theater keyboardist, replacing Sherinian.
With yet another new member, Dream Theater entered BearTracks Studio once again to write and record their next album. As a result of an ultimatum from Portnoy, the label gave the band complete creative control. The follow-up to "Metropolis Part 1", which was written during the Falling Into Infinity sessions (but not used on that album), was taken off the shelf for reworking. They decided to expand the 20-minute song into a complete concept album, with a story revolving around themes such as reincarnation, murder and betrayal. To avoid stirring up the fan base, a tight veil of secrecy enveloped the writing and recording process. The only things fans were privy to prior to its release were a track list that had been leaked against the band's wishes, and a release date. In 1999, Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory was released to high critical acclaim. It was hailed as Dream Theater's masterpiece by many fans and critics alike, despite only reaching #73 on the US album chart.
The album was mixed by David Bottrill, but only a few of his mixes made it on the final album. The bulk was remixed by Kevin Shirley. The rest of the mixes can be heard in the band's official bootleg "The Making of Scenes from a Memory".
A massive world tour followed recording the album, taking over a year to complete, by far their largest to that point. The concerts reflected the theatrical aspect of the album. They played the entire Scenes From a Memory album from start to finish, with a video screen on the back wall of the stage showing a narrative companion to the story of the album. In addition to playing the album in its entirety, the band also played a second set of Dream Theater songs, as well as a few covers and improvisations of old Dream Theater material. For one extra special show, at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City, actors were hired to play characters in the story, and a gospel choir was enlisted to perform in some sections of the performance.
This show, the last North American date of the tour, was recorded for the band's first DVD release. After many technical delays, the DVD, titled Metropolis 2000, was released in early 2001. Shortly after, the band announced that an audio version of the concert, with the entire four-hour long set-list (most of which had to be cut from the DVD to save space), would be released.
The cover for the CD version of the concert, titled Live Scenes from New York, depicted one of Dream Theater's early logos (the Images and Words-era burning heart, modeled on the Sacred Heart of Christ) modified to show an apple (as in "Big Apple") instead of the heart, and the New York skyline, including the twin towers of the World Trade Center, in the flame above it. In an unfortunate coincidence, the album was released on the same date as the September 11 attacks. The album was quickly recalled by the band and was re-released with revised artwork later.

Putting the whole ordeal behind them, Dream Theater once again entered BearTracks Studios to record their sixth studio album. Four years after they first petitioned EastWest to allow them to release a double album, they finally got their chance with Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. The first disc consisted of five tracks of 713 minutes in length, and the second disc was devoted entirely to the 42-minute title track, which is to date the longest song Dream Theater has written. The genesis of that song came when Rudess wrote what would become the "Overture" section of "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence", and the band took some different melodies and ideas contained within it and expanded them into chapters of a complete story.
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence ended up being received very well by critics and the press. It was the most publicized of Dream Theater's albums since Awake, debuting on the Billboard charts at #46 and the Billboard Internet charts at #1. Throughout the next year and a half they toured the world once more, with an expanded live show including a select few special "album cover" gigs (see Cover songs section, below), in which they played Metallica's Master of Puppets and Iron Maiden's The Number of the Beast in their entirety.
Train of Thought and Live at Budokan (20032004)
During 2003, Dream Theater entered the studio to write and record another album. Since Scenes from a Memory was written and recorded simultaneously in the studio, in the spirit of change, the band took a different approach by setting aside three weeks for writing prior to recording. In the middle of the recording sessions for the album, a special tour with two other progressive metal bands, Queensrche and Fates Warning, was undertaken in North America. The "Escape from the Studio American tour", as it was referred to in Dream Theater's promotional material, featured Queensrche and Dream Theater as co-headlining acts with Fates Warning performing supporting act duties. As a finale for each concert there was an extended encore in which both Dream Theater and Queensrche performed together on stage simultaneously, often playing cover songs.
At the completion of the tour, Dream Theater returned to the studio to finish the recording of their seventh album, Train of Thought. They concentrated more on writing a great song-oriented album, a mindset inspired by covering Master of Puppets and Number of the Beast on a previous concert tour. As a result, the more straight-forward metal sound of those two albums seemed to creep into Train of Thought. The album was a critical success, but it alienated a fair proportion of Dream Theater's fans[who?] who preferred traditional progressive rock, such as Yes or King Crimson. Regardless, it seemed to expand Dream Theater's fan base into new territory, capturing many more metal fans.
Another world tour followed, during which Dream Theater performed support act duties for one of their major influences, Yes. A modest North American tour was completed by the two bands, after which Dream Theater continued to tour the world with their so-called "An Evening With Dream Theater" shows.
Their next move was to release another live CD/DVD combination, this time recorded at the famous Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokyo, Japan on their Train of Thought world tour. Live at Budokan was released on October 5, 2004, and further propelled Dream Theater's reputation as one of the premier live acts in progressive metal.

Upon the completion of their Train of Thought promotional tour, Dream Theater entered the Hit Factory studios in NYC to record their eighth album. As it turned out, they would be the last group ever to record in that famous studio, and after they wrapped up their final session, the lights were turned off at the studio forever.
Octavarium was released on June 7, 2005, and took the band's sound in yet another new direction. Among its eight songs is a continuation of Portnoy's "Twelve-step" saga ("The Root of All Evil", steps 6-7 in the 12-step plan), as well as the title track, a musically versatile 24 minute epic rivaling "A Change of Seasons". Octavarium received mixed reviews from fans and has been the subject of spirited debate. Octavarium was the last album under their seven-album deal with Elektra Records, which had inherited the contract upon its absorption of EastWest Records.
Dream Theater toured extensively throughout 2005 and 2006 to celebrate their 20th Anniversary as a band, including a headlining spot on Gigantour. During a show on August 2, 2005 in Dallas, the band paid tribute to Pantera's late guitarist Dimebag Darrell by performing the song "Cemetery Gates" as an encore. In addition was the unexpected appearance of fellow musicians Russell Allen, Burton C. Bell and Dave Mustaine, who joined the band on stage to perform parts of the song.
Dream Theater later departed from Gigantour and continued on with their own series of concerts. Several concerts were recorded and released for the Fanclubs. The 20th anniversary tour concluded with a show at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 1, 2006. Though the show had minimal promotion, it was sold out days after tickets were made available. This show, which was recorded for a CD/DVD called Score released on August 29, 2006 through Rhino Records, was the band's first concert accompanied by an orchestra (the "Octavarium Orchestra").
Systematic Chaos, Greatest Hit and Chaos in Motion (2007-2008)
Dream Theater's next album Systematic Chaos was released on June 5, 2007. The record marked their first with new label Roadrunner Records, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. Roadrunner implemented increased promotion for the album, and as a result, Systematic Chaos reached number 19 on the Billboard 200. It also saw the release of a video for "Constant Motion" on July 14, the band's first music video since Hollow Years in 1997. An authorized book entitled Lifting Shadows, detailing their first twenty years, was also released in 2007, with an updated and expanded edition released in 2009 Systematic Chaos contains eight tracks, but technically only seven songs. The album contains an epic titled "In the Presence of Enemies", bookending the album as tracks 1 and 8, Portnoy's continuing AA Saga with the song "Repentance", and a song of political nature, "Prophets of War".
The 2007/2008 Chaos In Motion World Tour started off in Italy. Dream Theater played in the Gods of Metal concert on June 3, 2007. Dream Theater also appeared at the Fields Of Rock Festival in the Netherlands on June 17, 2007. They also played at various other European festivals including the UK's Download Festival and the French festival Hellfest Summer Open Air with other bands such as Megadeth, Korn, Mastodon and Slayer.
Dream Theater returned to perform the North American leg of the tour on July 24 in San Diego, California and wrapped up on August 26 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They played with opening acts Redemption and Into Eternity. The "Chaos In Motion" tour continued for the rest of the year and into 2008, playing shows in Asia, South America and, for the first time, Australia.
On April 1, 2008, a two-disc compilation album entitled Greatest Hit (...and 21 Other Pretty Cool Songs) was released by the band. The title jokingly references the song "Pull Me Under", the band's only significant radio hit. It also includes three song re-mixes from their second album, Images and Words, five edited versions of previously released songs, and a track from a single B-side. Unlike most Greatest Hits compilations, Dream Theater was actively involved with the album, coming up with the tracklisting that they felt best represented their musical careers.
Mike Portnoy, after the release of Greatest Hit, organized a new tour called Progressive Nation 2008. Unlike previous Dream Theater tours, performances were held in cities that they had not visited before in the past (such as Vancouver, Canada) or cities they hadn't played in for several years. This tour also marked the first time, since the release of Images and Words, where the group performed in small venues and performance halls.
After this tour, the band released a DVD set called Chaos in Motion 20072008, a compilation of songs from the tour supporting their 9th album, Systematic Chaos. There were two sets of DVDs released. One was a regular two disk set while the Special Edition set contained three CDs of music that went along with the DVDs. It was released on September 30, 2008.
Black Clouds & Silver Linings and God of War: Blood & Metal EP (2008resent)
Mike Portnoy announced on June 2, 2008 that the band would be entering the studio to record a new album. On October 7, 2008, Dream Theater began work on their 10th album. The album, which is titled Black Clouds & Silver Linings, was released on June 23, 2009. In addition to the standard CD, the album is available on vinyl LP, as well as a 3-disc Special Edition CD that includes the full album, a CD of instrumental mixes of the album and a CD of six cover songs.
On May 1, Mike Portnoy spoke to Metal Hammer about the new album for their podcast saying that while 'The Shattered Fortress' was the last in a series of songs about his 12 Steps recovery from alcoholism, 'The Best of Times' "is a real heavy personal subject about my dad who passed away during the making of the album," adding, "He was battling cancer throughout its making." The band has also announced a second Progressive Nation tour, including the tour's first performances in Europe. Opeth, Bigelf and Unexpect supported Dream Theater in Europe, while Zappa Plays Zappa and Scale the Summit played the North American leg.
On June 22, 2009, Mike Portnoy announced, on his forum, that there was a lineup change for the Progressive Nation 2009 tour in North America. Pain of Salvation and Beardfish were unable to tour with Dream Theater and Zappa Plays Zappa due to financial troubles within their respective record labels. He also announced two bands that will be filling the vacated slots for the Progressive Nation 2009 tour in North America, Bigelf and Scale The Summit. On this tour Dream Theater has often done an extended jam on Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance's "Solitary Shell," making it around thirteen minutes in length. Similarly, they also did an extended jam on "Surrounded" during the Chaos In Motion tour.
On July 1, 2009, the album debuted at #6 on Billboard's Top 200 album chart, with first week sales totalling 40,285. On November 12, 2009, Mike Portnoy announced that Dream Theater would enter the studio right after New Year's to write and record a brand new instrumental track for inclusion on the upcoming PS3 game God of War III soundtrack. Titled "Raw Dog" (an anagram of "War God"), the instrumental was sent to Roadrunner Records January 8, 2010. This marked the first time that the band has written and recorded an exclusive track for an outside project.
In December 2009, during their Black Clouds & Silver Linings tour whilst visiting Australia Dream Theater appeared with one support act, Pain of Salvation, who apparently sorted out enough of their financial difficulties with their record label. In March 2010, they will tour South America with Bigelf.
On February 17, 2010, Avenged Sevenfold stated that they had entered the studio, along with Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy, to drum for the record, in place of The Rev.
Logo and imagery
Dream Theater wordmark and "Majesty" symbol
Despite the band being forced to change their name, Dream Theater adopted a custom logo (known as the Majesty symbol) and wordmark which has appeared on the vast majority of their promotional material and on the front cover of every Dream Theater studio album. The Majesty symbol is derived from Mary, Queen of Scots' mark, which was re-worked by Charlie Dominici for use on the album artwork for When Dream and Day Unite. It consists of a capital Phi, a capital Mu, and a capital Lambda.
Live performances
Throughout their career, Dream Theater's live shows have gradually become bigger, longer, and more diverse. The most obvious example of this is their rotational set list policy. That is, every single night of every tour has its set list devised by Portnoy using a meticulous process that ensures its uniqueness. Factors such as set lists from previous cities are taken into account to ensure that people who see Dream Theater multiple times within the same area will not see the same songs performed twice, and even the set list from the last time the band was in a particular city is taken into account for the benefit of fans who see the band on successive tours.

For this to be possible, the band prepares to play the majority of its catalogue at any performance, depending on what Portnoy decides to program for that night. This process also requires the employment of a complex lighting system to load pre-configured lighting cues based on the individual songs.
Some of Dream Theater's more notable touring partners include Deep Purple, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Iron Maiden, Joe Satriani, King's X, Marillion, Megadeth, In Flames, Pain of Salvation, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Queensrche, Riverside, Spock's Beard, Fear Factory, Enchant, Symphony X, and Yes. In 2005, Dream Theater toured North America with the Gigantour festival, co-headlining with Megadeth, and have played with Megadeth and Iron Maiden physically on stage.
The band's full world tours, since Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, have predominantly been so-called "Evening with..." tours, in which the band performs for at least three hours with an intermission and no opening act. The show that was recorded for Live Scenes From New York was nearly four hours in length, and resulted in Portnoy almost being hospitalized after acquiring severe food poisoning from the food he ate before the show.

There is also a significant amount of humor, casualness, and improvisation attached to a Dream Theater concert. In the midst of "A Change of Seasons" it is quite common for themes such as those for Major League Baseball and The Simpsons to be quoted, and Rudess routinely modifies his solo section in the song and others, often playing the ragtime section of "When the Water Breaks" from Liquid Tension Experiment 2. Several songs included on Once in a LIVETime include snippets of others' pieces, such as Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee." Other quotations include "Mary Had a Little Lamb" during "Endless Sacrifice" on the Gigantour, a calliope-inspired break between verses of "Under a Glass Moon", a quote of "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina"'s main melody played by Petrucci while performing the intro solo of "Through Her Eyes" in Buenos Aires, the Turkish March at a concert in Istanbul, and the opening riff of Rush's "A Passage to Bangkok" at a show in Bangkok, Thailand. On the most recent "20th Anniversary World Tour" Rudess has even thrown in a short "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" theme in a break during "Endless Sacrifice", and during a concert in Israel he started a spontaneous "Hava-Nagilla" later accompanied by the rest of the band.
Occasionally, a member of the audience is picked at random to perform on stage, an example of which can be seen during Portnoy's drum solo on the Live at Budokan DVD. There have also been many impromptu renditions of "Happy Birthday" when a member of the band or crew has a birthday corresponding to a tour date, which normally results in a birthday cake being thrown at the subject.
Perhaps the best example of Dream Theater's unpredictable concert structure is that during Derek Sherinian's time with the band. At selected shows the band members all swapped instruments and performed an encore as the fictitious band dubbed Nightmare Cinema. They usually performed a cover of Deep Purple's "Perfect Strangers", and, on one occasion, Ozzy Osbourne's "Suicide Solution". At some shows, Sherinian, Petrucci and Portnoy would take the stage together under the name "Nicky Lemons and the Migraine Brothers". Sherinian, wearing a feather boa and novelty sunglasses, would perform a pop-punk song entitled "I Don't Like You" with Petrucci and Portnoy backing. In Chaos in Motion tour, in several concerts before "Trial of Tears", Portnoy and Petrucci would change positions and play Van Halen's "Eruption".
Dream Theater's largest audience as a headlining act was 20,000 in Santiago, Chile on December 6, 2005. This was during their first tour of South American countries other than Brazil (which they had visited in 1997 and 1998). The show was released on DVD through Portnoy's YtseJam Records.
In the Score and Chaos in Motion DVDs, an animation has accompanied certain parts of the songs, showing the band playing along to the music as cartoon characters. On the Score DVD, during the song Octavarium, the band is seen performing in an octagonal shaped maze. As the animation continues Jordan Rudess spontaneously turns into Santa Claus and John Petrucci catches fire. In "The Dark Eternal Night" from the Chaos in Motion DVD, the band battles against a monster by shooting fireballs from guitars, throwing drum sticks, and screaming.
In 2008 Dream Theater started the "Progressive Nation '08" tour, along with Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, and 3. The tour is the brainchild of Mike Portnoy, who stated, "I've been wanting to assemble a package tour like this for many years now. With all of the festivals and package tours that go through America, I've been talking with our manager and agent for over 10 years now about doing something that focuses on the more progressive, musician-oriented side of hard rock and metal. I decided it was time to stop talking the talk, lace up and finally walk the walk."
On February 13, 2009, Dream Theater announced the official line up for their Progressive Nation 2009 tour. The tour was originally set to feature bands including Swedish bands Beardfish and Pain of Salvation, as well as Zappa plays Zappa. On June 22, 2009, Mike Portnoy announced that Pain of Salvation and Beardfish would not be touring the North American leg of the Progressive Nation 2009 tour due to record label complications. In the same announcement, Portnoy stated that the bands Scale the Summit and Bigelf would replace Pain of Salvation and Beardfish on the tour. This lineup change has put Bigelf on both the North American and European legs of the Progressive Nation 2009 tour. The tour's North American leg ran throughout July and August 2009. On March 26, 2009 it was announced that Dream Theater would take the Progressive Nation tour to Europe for the first time alongside Opeth, Bigelf and Unexpect. The tour ran throughout September and October 2009.

Mike Portnoy started an official bootlegs series in response to Dream Theater fans' affinity for live versions of their concerts. Dream Theater is one of the most actively bootlegged bands in the progressive metal genre. Since their very first shows in New York as Majesty, fans have recorded almost every single show that Dream Theater have played (occasionally there are three or four versions of a single concert), and some very elaborate and professional recordings have been released.
However, not every member in the band condones the release of Dream Theater bootlegs. Portnoy is the most pro-bootlegging member, since he was an avid collector of many bootlegs in his younger days and keeps his own personal archive of Dream Theater material in his basement. Petrucci and LaBrie have voiced opposition to people recording their concerts. Petrucci takes issue with bootleggers because he prefers audience members to concentrate on the musicians on stage, and not the level adjustments on their recording device. LaBrie, on the other hand, argues that bootlegging takes ownership and control over Dream Theater's performances away from the band themselves and into the hands of the public. Myung has expressed mild opposition to bootlegging, but in some interviews has mentioned that he does not particularly take great issue with it.
Dream Theater have released a series of official bootlegs, demos and other rarities through YtseJam Records, headed by Portnoy. They include demos the band put out before official albums, as well as many live shows, including shows where the band has covered a particular album. Albums covered include The Dark Side of the Moon, Made in Japan, Master of Puppets, and Number of the Beast.
Cover songs
Dream Theater has been known for covering other artists' work throughout their career. They took this practice to a new level during the promotional tour for Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. At three special gigs, one each in Barcelona, Chicago and New York City, they covered Metallica's Master of Puppets album in its entirety after a full set of Dream Theater material. This came as a surprise to fans, as there was no sign that this was to occur, other than it being announced that the gigs involved, which were on the second night of a two-night stand in each city, would be "extra special". This tradition can most likely be traced back to one of Mike Portnoy's favorite bands, Phish, who began a series of performing "musical costumes" of entire albums from other artists each Halloween beginning in 1994. Portnoy devised this "album cover" as the first in a series of gigs to be played as tributes to bands that had been influential in the formation and development of Dream Theater. The covers set divided many fans who attended the shows, with some people saying that they went to a Dream Theater concert to see original music and not another artist's work. Others, however, said that it was a bonus and not a replacement for a normal Dream Theater concert, since an ordinary gig had been played the night before.
On the next leg of the tour they covered Iron Maiden's The Number of the Beast and received a similar reaction to Master of Puppets, although it was already known that a cover was to be performed that night because the tour itinerary included two successive gigs in a single city. On October 11, 2005, Dream Theater covered Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon. Dream Theater's official webpage stated that the second sets of the second nights in Amsterdam, London, Buenos Aires, So Paulo and Tokyo (October 11, October 25, December 4, December 11 and January 13 respectively), and also the second set of the January 15 show in Osaka, would be a classic album covered in its entirety. The Dark Side of the Moon was played again on October 25 in London. However, in Buenos Aires (December 4) and So Paulo (December 11) the 'classic album' played was Dream Theater's own Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory, to make up for not having visited Argentina and Brazil in their Metropolis 2000 tour. On January 13, 2006 (Tokyo) and on the 15th (Osaka), Dream Theater covered Deep Purple's live album Made in Japan. Portnoy says that he has one more cover show planned, but refuses to reveal when it will occur, or what album will be covered.
During Gigantour 2005, Dream Theater did a cover of Pantera's "Cemetery Gates" as a tribute to "Dimebag" Darrel Lance Abbott. As an added bonus, they had Burton C. Bell of Fear Factory, and Russell Allen of Symphony X do guest vocals and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, do the main solo for the song.
In March 2006, Dream Theater played the rare Rush song "Jacob's Ladder" at a show in Toronto. John Petrucci said a few days later in Asbury Park, New Jersey, prior to the night's show, that "Rush wouldn't play it, so we thought we'd play it for them."
In addition, Dream Theater released several live cover songs on their EP A Change of Seasons, including songs from Elton John, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Journey, Kansas, and Dixie Dregs.
In 2008, they recorded a version of Iron Maiden's "To Tame a Land" for a Kerrang magazine compilation entitled Maiden Heaven. This song was later included on the special edition of Black Clouds and Silver Linings
Dream Theater also recorded a number of cover songs for their 2009 album Black Clouds & Silver Linings. The songs came as a bonus disc in the special editions version of the album.
Dream Theater played "Hava Nagila", the traditional Jewish song, during "Metropolis Pt. 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper" at a sold-out concert in Tel Aviv, Israel on June 16, 2009.

PRELUDE.. Assassination Politics of the Vietnam War period.
Former CIA Richard Ober, director of OPERATION CHAOS... the most expansive domestic surveillance and covert ops net-work in America's history. The intelligence sectors response to the anti-war and civil rights movements, ran covert assassinations programs as well. The Nixon administration rose on a foundation of political murder. The C.I.A. had assembled a thick concordia of lethal methods. The project began with an anonymous , undated memo on assassination by "natural cause." Knock off key people the heavily censored document specified, " how to knock off key guys, natural causes, a declassified memo.. 1 Bodies left with no hope if the cause of death being determined by the most complete autopsy and chemical examinations, 2 Bodies left in such circumstances as to simulate accidental death 3 Bodies left in such circumstances as to simulate accidental suicide 4 Bodies left with residue that simulate those caused by natural diseases.
April 2, 1977 Washington Post reported that the agency had experimented in exotic poisons.
CHAPTER 1
In 1967 a subversive form of music melded with politics in San Francisco. Thus, destabilization tactics were summarized in a leaked memo, excerpt: "show them as depraved" call attention to their habits, and every possible embarrassment. Send articles to the newspaper showing their depravity. Use misinformation to confuse and corrupt. Provoke target groups into rivalries that might result in death."
For the first time since it's creation the warfare state erected by the Dulles brothers, Hoover, MacArthur, Kissinger, Nixon, etc. was threatened by an increasingly militant segment of society. The FBI rose to the challenge. On July 30, 1994, Intelligence files on Leonard Bernstein reveal the bureau spent countless hours examining his links with associations deemed communist to subversive. FBI agent Jane Moore said the FBI saw the strength and power of the idea of socialism, realized it represented a very real danger to our profit-motivated corporate state and had declared total covert war against not only the denim clad revolutionaries but all progressive forces The bureaus tactic was to cut them down or burn them out before they realized their potential. At the federal level, the CIA. was already pursuing similar objectives under code name Operation Chaos. Targets of Chaos Blank Panther Movement (Geronimo Pratt, jailed for 27 yrs. for murders he did not commit. He was also a target of COINTELPRO, the FBI "counter-surveillance program) Politically active hippies were also targets. Many underground papers were put out of business when they were abandoned by advertisers who had been pressured by the FBI. From 1967 to 1972 the operation compiled 13,000 files, which concerned 300,000 individuals and organizations. The CIA directorate of operations created an index of 7 million names.
CHAPTER 2
THE MACHINE CIA AND MOB INFLUENCES ON THE ROCK INDUSTRY....
The mafia was to be enlisted for the covert war against the counter-culture. In the mid-60's CHAOS officials and the mob both eyed the rise of political rock music. The CIA saw them as long haired communists screaming for revolution and the end to the Vietnam War. The mafia wanted more constrictive financial control over the recording industry. Top 40, the reigning broadcast format in America owes its very existence to the CIA and mafia combo. Drugs would enter the equation, plus youth and LSD with the politics of heroin and LSD drugs were only one contribution the agency has made to the American culture.
The National Security Council was patterned after Hitler's security council , and its jurisdiction was to oversee the CIA by dictate of the NSA of 1947.
CHAPTER 3 PARAPOLITICAL STARS IN THE DOPE SHOW
Books were burned, book stores closed down, offices and social centers were broken into, artists, writers, musicians and countless hippies got dragged into court., to answer trumped up charges of corruption, obscenity, drug-abuse, and anything that might silence their voices. LSD appeared on the streets, as if on cue to destroy student descent. More potent drugs used in federally sponsored behavior modification studies (translates mind-control) also found their way to society at large. STP created by Dow-Chemical Co. in 1964 was considered incapacitating agent by the CIA Emergency wards was choked in San Francisco with freaking bohemians. PCP an animal tranquilizer, also fed to the hippies by the CIA. The Mob opened mass production labs and a meticulously organized network of traffickers to move black market drugs..
A CIA agent who claims to have infiltrated the covert LSD network, provided a clue when he referred to Height-Asbury as a human guinea pig farm. A dozen years earlier in the same city , George Hunter White and his CIA colleagues had set up a "safe house" and began testing hallucinogenic drugs on unwitting citizens. Now suddenly there was a neighborhood packed with young people who were ready and willing to gobble experimental chemicals. Charles Manson and Timothy Leary arrived in San Francisco and each had a keen interest in mind-control.
Dulles mentioned in his memo that the agency was testing drugs on groups of people. CIA personnel mingled with the drug dealers.. Monitoring stations were set up, among them was Louis J West, Jack Ruby's shrink, West oversaw Dr Jose Delgado, author of Physical Control of the Mind and Ross Addey, a veteran of operation Paperclip (Nazi's entry into CIA and NASA and else where), Dr. Margaret Singer of the CIA created False Memory Syndrome. All participated in the study of LSD as a politically destabilizing weapon. One CIA memo named the drug as a potential new agent for unconscious warfare. In 1967 as CHAOS was launched by CIA White House. Timothy Leary, tossed out of the army for erratic behavior, left experimenting with LSD on prisoners in N.Y. for the CIA, and donned the robes of the designated LSD media prelate. He later admitted to knowing at the time that some powerful people in Washington have sponsored this drug research. Leary was constantly surrounded by ops of intelligent agents.
CHAPTER 4 The death of Cass Elliot (of the Mamas and the Papas)and other restless youth
According to Mae Brussell, researcher, in 1968 orders went out to proceed to neutralize segments of society. including those restless youth. By 1969 the SSS (Special Services Section of the FBI), combined with the Justice department and with the CIA operation Chaos.
Thus. Manson Murders, etc. Manson joined the Process church, a Satanist church , who also worshipped Lucifer and Jehovah. It was (is) big in Hollywood at the time. (Manson clearly a mind-controlled dupe).
One FBI report on Cass Elliot marked urgent states she attended a fund raiser in Hollywood , for Peace and Justice. Cass had political ambitions and wanted to be a senator, maybe, in 20 yrs or so. An underground paper called The Realist suggested Cass was the target of political foul play. The editor Paul Krassner said, "I believe she might have been killed. She knew a lot about the incredible criminal links between Hollywood and Washington and Las Vegas.
CHAPTER 5 THE MURDER IN THE HOUSE OF POOH BRIAN JONES OF THE ROLLING STONES.
The fusion of music and politics made the stones an enemy of the state. There were infiltrators and drug set-ups and busts thus, Jagger said " This is a protest against the system, war stems from power-mad politicians and patriots, we must end all these mindless men from seats of power, and replace them with real people, people of compassion." The stones were stalked harassed and getting paranoid.
An odd construction crew came to restore the house of Brian Jones, the former cottage of AA Milne, author of Pooh books. They muscled their way into his private life, and had a weird hold over Brian. One worker, Thorogood, made a death bed confession, that he had drowned Wilson The tell-tale signs of cover-up by authorities are unmistakable. He was off drugs at the time. his death was not caused by a life of abuse as was claimed, he was murdered.
CHAPTER 6 THE END OF ROCK FESTIVALS
Five Months later, a music festival happened near San Francisco, and became murderous. The band would be forever tainted by the surreal violence..
Editor of Rolling Stone, Jan Wenner, put the Rolling Stones Band in touch with Melvin Belli, attorney of California well-heeled conservative base, whose eulogy at his funeral was, "a man of law against the CHAOS of life, a man of CHAOS against the law of life." He was one of CIA's most trusted court room wonders. Belli chose the Altamount for the Stones concert. It had all the charm of a grave yard, and not fit to draw 300,000 people.! Ralph Sonny Barger of the Hells Angels was hired to keep the peace, (an informant hit-man, who was hired by feds to kill labor activist Cesar Chavez, but was arrested instead on an old charge.) Hells Angels are represented in 18 countries now, largest crime family export. Who in 1969 suspected the Hells Angels was a death squad in employ of the political agencies? (a refreshing break from the status quo?)
At the Stone's concert the Hells Angels beat up on the youth to excited to see Jagger and Leary arrive, an 18 year old girl was stabbed to death for allegedly having a gun, by the Hells Angels. There ended up 3 dead and many wounded..
A CANCER WAS PLANTED AND GROWING IN THE COUNTER-CULTURE
CHAPTER 7 JIMI HENDRIX POLITICAL HARASSMENT AND MURDER.
He didn't die from a drug overdose, he was not an out of control dope fiend. He was not a junkie.
FBI COUNTELPRO was out to do more than prevent a communist menace, from overtaking the U.S.! (or to control black power movement). It was out to obliterate its opposition and ruin the representatives of the people involved in the anti-war movement, Civil Rights Movement, and the rock revolution.
Hendrix manager, Mike Jeffery, by his own admission was an intelligence agent. He frequently boasted he had powerful underworld connections. There were many mafia managed "acts". The CIA/Mafia connection had exercised considerable influence in the music industry for decades. Hendrix wanted out of the contract. He felt he was under surveillance and felt more and more unsafe in New York, his former safe haven. His manager, thus, might have created a Toronto arrest, to silence Jimi. He preferred him to be isolated. He had always been a trusting and open person before, and now he didn't know who to trust.
He was getting 10 grand for a 50 grand concert. Hendrix friends said Jeffrey's would get more money from a dead Hendrix than a living one. There was also a possible million dollar insurance policy in Jeffrey's name.
Was Hendrix murdered? The official cause of death was asphyxiation caused by vomit? The pathologist report left the cause of death open. Monica Danneman (investigator), had long insisted Hendrix was murdered. At the time of her own death, she had brought media attention to the case in a letter and highly publicized court battle. Monica's body was found in a fume-filled car near her home, in south England. It was called a suicide.
She had a lot of death threats, and people who knew her said "she didn't believe in the concept of suicide"
CHAPTER 8 Death of Jim Morrison, lead singer of the doors.
Two years after the death of Brian Jones, Jim Morrison's body was found in a bath-tub in his flat in Paris. Death was attributed to natural causes, possibly heart failure. Morrison's political outbursts attracted the FBI. He had said, " I like the idea about the breaking away or over-throw of the established order." In another interview Manzerek (of the Doors) considered possible motives for the elimination of the Anarchistic Lizard King " they were going to stop all rock and roll by stopping the Doors. He was considered the most dangerous because he was saying . "We want the world and we want it NOW."
FBI harassment rendered Morrison so anxiety ridden that he had an ulcer by mid-twenties. Paranoia struck deep and it was thought he was a marked man. Bob Seymore wrote a book re: Jim called The End and conceded" you could say the CIA and the other intelligence agencies may have had a hand in the deaths of Hendrix, Joplin and Morrison etc., simply because they were the leaders of the generation of the 60's.
A book " The Bank of America in Louisiana" appeared in 1975, after his death, supposedly written by Morrison. Some say he survived Paris and lived a life free from celebrity and the FBI. A James Douglas Morrison, claimed to be operating as an intelligence agent for a number of groups including the CIA and Interpol, and also had connections with various occult groups. This JM2 also claims to be the dead rock star. There are stacks of official looking document, and letters between the agencies, CNN, NBC, and JM2. This claim was made by researcher Thomas Lyttle who claims to have seen what looks like authentic documents. There seems to be hundreds if not thousands of miscellaneous files under the name. No autopsy was performed after his death, a probable violation of French law. Pamela Courson, who was with him at the time, died later of an overdose that some said was a "Hot Shot" or poisoned opiate.
CHAPTER 9 JOAN BAEZ PHIL OCHS
Joan Baez survived the chaos backlash, she fully understood that political assassination could be her reward for openly castigating military-industrial masters of war. Her close friend Martin Luther King Jr., the worlds most honored civil rights leader told her and a group of activists before delivering his famed speech how the police had dumped him in the hole and it was black and he couldn't see. They shoved food in the room but he wouldn't eat it for fear it was poisoned starving and afraid he got on his knees and prayed and when he got up he said it didn't matter anymore.
Kings entourage hid their pain when they knew what he meant. We knew he was going to die, and he was ready to die, and he was ready to make a commitment to Vietnam etc. He said, "I have been to the mountaintop and I have seen the Promised Land and it doesn't matter anymore."
Joan Baez wrote a memoir, And a Voice to Sing With, (1987) of her childhood and her father as a bright young Stanford scientist "Albert Baez recognized the danger of the unleashed atom even in the early days" He took a job at Cornell University in Ithica, New York (Cornell is the base of CIA Mind Control experiments and Joan is a survivor of ritual abuse and mind control experimentation, according to letters she has written to researchers and other survivors), a common cover for trauma-based-mind-control programming. She has a song about it
"I am paying for protection, Smoking out the truth...chasing recollections...nailing down the roof"
Baez entertained no illusions about the CIA, and promoted State of Siege, film she saw as exposing the corrupt element of AID (Agency for International Development, overseas), which funded the teaching of techniques of torture tactics in Latin America. We solicited signatures against the use of torture. Torture was made more prevalent than it had been since the Middle Ages, thus the danger was its common use as government policy. The hands of the US government were far from clean.
Joan did years of intensive therapy to confront her inner demons ,fears, insomnia, panic attacks, phobias, anxieties, etc. Therapists kept Joan glued together, to get me to the next gig, she said.

JOAN BAEZ AND BOB DYLAN MIMI FARINA AND RICHARD FARINA
In 1961 Joan Baez met Bob Dylan. Whose songs had such stark political flavor. Bob nearly died in 1966 after a motorcycle accident. Joan's brother-in-law Richard Farina did die a few months later in a motorcycle accident. It was suspicious and happened on his wife Mimi Farina birthday. He was on his way back from a promotional party for his book "Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up". Before his death he had been producing an album to be performed by Joan, but it got shelved.
Mimi Farina, sister of Joan, is an equally talented and politically active woman who sings in prisons and goes out hands on to the poor, last I heard, and I believe Joan's heart is also with the poor folk (My Note)
After Dylan's accident he went thru a political change . He dropped the broadside lyrics grating on the nerves of the establishment. Mark Edmundson wrote: He wasn't ruined by drugs. Ochs denounced the American politics in the "Cops of the world". song

Not long before he died, one night after too many drinks, he drew down the CIA Director Wm. Colby, director of the murderous Phoenix Project in Vietnam. He claimed he put a contract out on his life for 100,000 dollars. "I told Colby he's got a half of year to live or get out of Vietnam or he is dead. They can kill me but he is dead" he said.( He as well was certain that Gloria Steinem, editor of Ms. magazine and famous feminist is a CIA agent) Ochs was founder of the Yippee party, sang with protesters, and appeared as a witness for the trail of the Chicago Seven. His lyrics were considered so inflammatory that he was banned from the air-waves. The FBI did not refrain form amassing a huge file on him, and the feeling that he was never alone unnerved him. He wrote " take everything I own, take the tap from my phone, and leave my life alone, My life alone! He was tarred as a communist and a threat to national security. His friends said Ochs was convinced he would be assassinated. He was driven to drink by the radio black-listing his music and the ongoing surveillance and harassments and his nerve gave out. He lived in a perpetual state of paranoia His vocal cords were crushed by thugs.
He developed a right wing pseudo personality called John Train who he wrote about ( Beth's note: Who created John Train? Was he like his good friend Joan Baez, a mind-controlled MPD(DID), from abuse and experimentation? On the first day of summer ,1975," Phil Ochs "was murdered in the Chelsea Hotel by John Train, Ochs said in a taped interview. "for the good of societies public and "secret," he needed to be gotten rid of." He also made reference to his Pseudo personality in song fragments in an album never recorded re: "Phil Ochs checked into the Chelse a Hotel, there was blood on his clothes, Train Train Train, the outlaw and his brain. (my note: I have read accounts of cloning since the 50's. Lots of hi-tech knowledge kept secret, including in Jim Keith's book "Secret and Suppressed").
Ochs actually now believed he was working for the CIA., writes biographer Marc Elliot.( Ochs also referred to N.Y. Cornell Hospital in mysterious lists) "Train hinted that if Ochs had been a commercial success "they"(CIA) would have killed his host personality.. " Colby and Co. would have been more than happy to put a slug thru his head at that point, "said Train, the alternate personality. Ochs committed suicide on April 9, 1976, by hanging. This was the same year of the book " the Control of Candy Jones" by Donald Bain., ( a study of CIA mind control experimentation, Candy was also an MPD, created personalities, who carried out covert assignments , a marionette with an inner Nazi personality. She worked without her knowledge as a CIA op. for 12 years. Her final post-hypnotic command was suicide, which was intervened by her husband, talk show host John Nebel. ( the book is out of print, I have a copy) It is very probable that "John Train" was programmed to kill Philip Ochs the host personality.
Another musician with repressed memory of child-hood trauma was Peter Townsend ("Who" guitarist). In 1999 it occurred to him that certain phrases from rock opera "TOMMY" were not fiction but his life. He filled in the blanks from his childhood amnesia.
CHAPTER 10 WHO KILLED THE KENNEDYS AND SAL MINEO (REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE)
Actor Sal Mineo was stabbed to death in a parking lot after signing on to play Sirhan Sirhan in an upcoming movie regarding JFK. (CIA assassination and post-hypnotic programming were the major themes of the movie.) Elliot Mintz talk show host for ABC, later Bob Dylan and the Lennon's publicist was buried in research with Mineo, regarding JFK killing. They became convinced Sirhan was innocent. The movie production disagreed and Mineo pulled out of the picture. After he was killed the media revealed in his secret life of bi-sexuality, and the murder was taken as homophobia. Gay Bars were closing in fear, and Hollywood stars took refuge behind locked doors.
Michael Ruppert a former LAPD officer left the department to expose his CIA trained colleagues. He claims "Sirhan was hypno-programmed using hypnosis, drugs and torture by Rev. Jerry Owen and CIA Mind-Control Specialist Wm. Bryan at the stable where he worked months before the shooting. The LAPD concealed evidence implicating the CIA in shooting. The channels of the intelligence world swarmed with crooks and killers.
Conservative Evangelist Billy Graham was Presidents Nixon's celebrated "spiritual advisor". Then there was LA's gangster corrupt public servant and wealthy gambling czar Mickey Cohen.(who "claimed "to be a friend of Sal Mineo) The former hit-man Cohen contacted the press after Mineos death t o boost that he was his pal. Cohen was also chummy with Nixon, and his entourage. In 1968, Cohen was coined the godfather of the West Coast Mafia gambling ops. When Cohen was close to death he opened up to investigative reporter Chuck Ashman, and he said, "Mickey Cohen told me the tale of his being paid off to fake a conversion and dose of Christianity for Billy Grahams N.Y. crusade. Two of Graham's staff had passed more than 10,000 dollars to Mickey and his family." We found the dates and the amounts and even the checks" Cashmon said.
Cohen was the first bridge linking the killers of Robert Kennedy and Sal Mineo. He was on friendly terms with Carlos Marcellos, mob boss, who ran with David Ferrie, CIA corrupt ops., who was investigated by Jim Garrison in the connection of killing of JFK. Cohen was also a chum with Jack Ruby. Cohen was also a friend of Melvin Belli, Jack Ruby's defense attorney. He also controlled the Santa Anita race-track where Sirhan was employed. Mickey Cohen's circle of friends and his appearance in the limelight after the Mineo killing begs question on Hollywood power brokers. Sirhan and Cohen were close to Desi Arnez, (Producer) of I Love Lucy .Arnez was an anti Castro Cuban exile leader. In 1966 Sirhan wrote in his notebook that he landed a job at the stables Corona Breeding Farm co-owned by Desi Arnez, Buddy Ebsen, Dale Robertson, ultra conservatives, and TV personalities were well acquainted with Sirhan. Sirhan was known as a fervent anti-communist. Attorney, Russell Parsons, Sirhan's attorney, showed no effort to make known that Sirhan was in the wrong position to kill senator Kennedy, he was shot from behind and Sirhan stood in front of Kennedy.
CHAPTER 11 PROJECT WALRUS..JOHN LENNON..
Mark-David Chapman chose to plead not guilty due to following the direction of his voices.. His attorney J. .Marks, punctuated the plea "by reason of insanity". Chapman testified "I can hear their thoughts, I can hear them talking, but not from the outside, from the inside" Not one of the three psychiatrists at the trial explored the possibility of Mind-Control. In 1977 Chapman lost his fundamentalist religion and became a Satanist..
At 19, 1n 1975,Chapman signed onto the YMCA,(international camp counselor program) and was sent to Beirut where he allegedly received instructions in lethal arts at the CIA training camp school of terror. (there was a known "experiment in Mind Control unit" for the army in Lebanon.). In 1980 he surfaced in New York, and mailed a letter to an Italian address. The Dakota (residence of the Lennon's) was given as a return address. There was a reference to his" mission " in N.Y.. It was returned to New York, the address not found in Italy, where it sat for three years in the dead letter bin, and finally delivered to the Dakota. Yoko Ono glanced at the letter and dropped it in her deranged file. In 1983, head of security, Mahoney, found the letter. This was evidence of premeditated murder and conspiracy. The letter vanished and reappeared slightly altered, the post-date now was 1981. The "mission" statement was missing...
Elliot Mintz, friend of Sal Mineo ,was instrumental in exposing "Project Walrus" as a conspiracy regarding Lennon. He had been Lennon's chum too and publicist since 1971 Mintz recalls that some of Yoko body guards were at the time New York Police officers.. It is very difficult for a private citizen to legally possess a weapon in New York. The people who can are off duty officers. It is thus, a common celebrity arrangement. There were many files with missing contents at Yoko's apt. after Lennon was killed. Listening devices were planted at the Dakota and once swept clean would reappear. There had been numerous attempts on Yoko's life. One man was arrested at airport who had made a call that he was coming to finish the job and kill Yoko and Sean. There were also calls made to tell her body guards were going to kill her. Sean Lennon said, "I grew up afraid my mother and I were going to be killed".
After John's murder the first promoting of Project Walrus was the ruining of his reputation. John had known he was wire-tapped and was paranoid. After Watergate he filed a lawsuit for wiretap and surveillance and made some progress. Justice Dept. never would admit it actually carried out the wiretap and blamed it on other possibilities. After he got his green card he gave up the litigation. Lennon overcame his fear of federal harassment and gave public statements that were anti-republican.
Killing Lennon was only the first step. All that he signified must be defaced. That was the principle objective of Walrus. His diaries were stolen and returned later with extra entries and some entries altered. Fred Seaman wrote a defamatory book on Lennon. Seaman was to be executive of Lennon's archives, and much was feigned regarding their bond. He told friends he was going to discredit Ono at all costs. The goal was to drive her to a nervous breakdown and discredit her attempt to set straight the public record. The walrus crew anticipated immense profits. Dead Lennon's money's The events at the Dakota began to sound like the Movie "Gaslight"..( in which a husband tries to drive his wife crazy by reality distortion) Yoko began sleeping badly. One of Yoko's assistants, wracked by stress began packing a gun at all times. He said " you do not know how big this is. The people doing this are too big to fight." To discredit Lennon and Yoko and the Peace movement was a major part of Operation Walrus. (but it didn't and IT WILL NOT)
CHAPTER 12 WHAT CHA GONNA DO?..THE DEATHS OF MARLEY AND TOSH.

Peter Tosh , like Marley was a widely influential civil rights agitator, and like other black activists before him he was gunned down. He died in 1987 at age 43. He was upset with the treatment of his people. Tosh went to Trench Town to live with an uncle after the aunt he was living with died. It was there he met the young Bob Marley, and taught him to play guitar. They got together with Bunny Wailer and the trio called themselves the Wailin Wailers. They were drastically underpaid. Record producers are notorious for pocketing money. (dem pirates and dem thieves). Peter Tosh always let his feelings be known. He cared more about principles and morals than popularity and fame. He said "they know I do not support POLITRICKS and games, my duty is to unify the people." He and Marlew had some wrangling and he left the group, and went on his own. Destabalsation tactics were employed, and political violence and sabotage etc. from the CIA with pernicious attempts to wreck the economy of their country.. The new weapon and the new menace was destabilization..
Bob Marley held onto the Wailer name and took on new members. The peoples National Party asked them to play at Smile Jamaica concert. He agreed.
In Nov. a death squad came to Marley's home and started shooting. They shot bullets into his manager, and one in his wife's' Rita's head , as she tried to get their 5 children out of the house. They survived. The last bullet creased Marley's breast below his heart and drilled deep into his arm. Marley would sing "Ambush in the night, all guns aiming at me." This did not stop them performing at the Smile Jamaica concert.. ("War") "Until the ignoble and unhappy regimes that now hold our brothers, in Angola, in Mozambique, in subhuman bondage, have been toppled utterly destroyed...everywhere is war......
Carl Colby , son of CIA head Wm. Colby, came to the concert and posed as crew and got back stage where he gave a gift to Marley, a pair of boots. Former black Panther Lee Lew-Lee was close to Marley and he thinks Marley's cancer started with the boots He claims there was a link of copper wire attached to the boots, which hurt his foot when he tried them on and had to be removed..(it might have been treated chemically with a carcinogenic toxin. Marley later broke his toe and found out it was cancerous, it spread. He did not trust main-stream medicine and continued to perform. He knew by 1977 he was dying and compressed a lifetime of music into a few years
Something of a Caribbean CIA POGROM was underway via Kissinger and Co. There was emphasis on psychological Ops. which became arson, banking assassination disruption of the now Manley's democratic socialist rule. Political violence was stoked and arsenal of weapons supplied. This was all mostly financed by Hard Drugs, which disrupted the Rasta movement and marijuana. They wanted it legalized. Their chosen weapon in the Rasta Movement was free expression and they were crucified for it. Tosh was busted and beaten almost to death and it made his music more vengeful.. Secret Police and the CIA tailed him thru it all. Grotesque human rights violations were commonplace. Marley found out he had a brain tumor. He sang " these songs of freedom is all I ever had, emancipate yourself from MENTAL SLAVERY. "He was observed rubbing his forehead and grimacing while performing. One woman explained "Hidden lasers were fixed to spotlights above the stage and burned out his brain" Fellow Rasta's heard about an alternative doctor in Jamaica, who advised Marley to talk to a Doctor Josef Issels, a holistic immuno therapist in a Bavarian village. He went. The Dr. said "I hear you are one of the most dangerous black men in the world." Issels medical career did not hold up under scrutiny, during WW2 he had worked hand in hand with Dr. Mengele (angel of death) in research in Poland, at the Auschwitz camp. The Wailers found this out after his death.
Issels told Bob he could cure him and did sadistic procedures that left him in agony. After visits the Wailor's said "he is killing Bob" He also cut off his dreadlocks. He was in the hands of the doctor who had been the accomplice of Mengele in horrific Medical experiments against what they considered "sub humans". His mother said " he was starving and wasting away , and he would fall into fits of shaking, etc" Marley weighed 82 pounds on the day of his death. May 11, 1980. (HIS MUSIC LIVES ON)
Peter Tosh found the bloodshed and hypocrisy of death squad justice in the Third World unbearable He was obsessed with the hidden evil. By 1987 the year of Tosh murder Jamaica musicians were censored by the prevailing politics. Witnesses and friends insist his murder was a political hit. They were convinced Tosh was killed for his statements on Human Rights, Black liberation and the legalization of Marijuana. Tosh was throwing a small party at home when Mike Robertson, a local radio host answered the door. Leppo Leppan, an old buddy from Trenchtown days stepped in. Behind him were two clean-cut looking strangers, professional hit men, they insisted on talking to Tosh at gunpoint. Shots were fired and three people were dead.
Shortly afterward the N.Y. City apartment of Tosh was entered and burglarized, (such as the aftermath of Hendrix death). Two out of three of the Tosh killers remain at large. One hit man was said to be a policeman, (of course Leppan was convicted.)
Chapter 13 GANG WAR Sons of Chaos.
Rap artist Tupac Shakur was gunned down at a stop-light in Las Vegas in 1996. It will be evident re: the police strategy of disinformation, ignoring of witnesses, and the presence of undercover agents from L.A. and N.Y. at the murder of rapper Notorious B.I.G.
This suggests that both rappers were murdered by hit squads under the sanction of federal officers. Tupac's father said "It was clear to me form day one that the Las Vegas police never had any interest in solving the case of my sons murder..".. It was said " we dealt extensively with COINTELPRO (FBI) issues. We worked around a lot of political prisoners and the black liberation movement over the years. This shaped Tupac into the person he was. The family operated the "Centre for Black Survival! They had a youth group called "The New African Panthers" and Tupac became the chairperson for it."
The agony of the Rap industry was exacerbated in March 1997 by killing 24 yr. old Brooklyn rap artist Notorious B.I.G. in L.A. This happened after he had attended the annual 'Soul Train' Music awards, by an unidentified gunman. Tupacs father said in a letter (excerpt)"we do know that Brother Biggie was a part of an industry that has been under attack from the highest form of government officials." " They have targeted Tupac, Sister Souljah, and IceT. Ice Cube, just to name a few. This is reportedly due to the content of the lyrics. "IF" this was the case why would devil-worshippers (music-artists) not be hounded out also?????(They openly worship the devil in a so-called God fearing country.) Their lyrics preach mayhem, destruction. Death to parents, and even government; whereas our rapper loved-ones wanted to explain their pain and identify from where they came, with hopes for a better tomorrow; if all things were fair.
We believe that history has demonstrated that the murders of black people (young and old) who can have a profound impact, those who refuse to bow down, have been targeted by government at its highest level.
What we must understand is that our warriors are needed when it has been proven beyond contradiction that the C.I.A. were principal importers of Crack Cocaine and Cocaine into the 'HOOD', with blatantly racist drug laws, to set into motion tactics of genocide to destroy or lock away our brothers and sisters or the rest of their lives.

Chapter 14 FALSE GOD SYNDROME
DEATH OF MICHAEL HUTCHENE
.... 1997-----M. Hutchence was found tethered by his neck to a door frame. He too was an activist, who willed the lion share of his fortune to Amnesty International and the Green Party. He was found at the Ritz-Carleton in Sydney Australia. The media concocted scenes of SM but he was found with a broken hand and lacerations and had taken a bad beaten. His friends said he was not depressed and he was against suicide. There were rumors of the "MOB" involved in his investments possibly unknown to him. He died penniless due to investments and trusts and his family had to fight for his money.
He knew Gianni Versace, famous designer who was gunned down, and was also said to be possibly mafia involved, although he denied it angrily (A dead mourning bird was found by the Versace body, a symbol of a hit-man).
Diana Spencer, the Princess of Wales, and a month before her own death attended the funeral of Versace. As it happened another friend of Hutchence was Dodi Fayed , someone said to have mob links. Dodi's uncle was arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi of the Iran-Contra Fame.
Dodi and Diana were killed in a car accident four months before Hutchence died.
